Stars like Fred Astaire, once known for their youthful grace and dancing prowess, began to challenge the idea of ​​what it meant to grow old. Fred Astaire, a name synonymous with the golden age of Hollywood musicals, was a perfect example of someone who defied conventional expectations of aging. In 1976, at the age of 66, Astaire was photographed by Steve Shapiro at the barre, continuing to practice his art. The moment, captured in black and white, highlighted the actor and dancer's commitment to his craft, a testament to his belief that "old age is like everything else. To be successful, you have to start young."

When they come to our BWI community and learn from us and I see the joy in their eyes as they reach more of their potential that is completely rewarding for me. Despite this I get so many emails and messages asking me if they are too old to start Ballet if they are too old to come to the intensive all my classes. The answer for me is always no, you’re never too old. You can start whenever you want and never limit yourself by how old you are. Whatever your passion is, just start today.
