🚨🏀 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 🏀🚨

The Morgan Dawgs Elite 17U squad came out firing Saturday at Recruit Look Kansas City Live, overwhelming Missouri United 17U in dominant fashion with an explosive 83-55 victory.

The Dawgs brought nonstop energy on both ends of the floor, using suffocating defense, relentless pressure, and fast-paced offense to completely take control of the game early. Missouri United simply had no answer for the Dawgs intensity and physical play.

Leading the charge once again was #7 Samuel Rich, who erupted for a game-high 24 points, attacking the rim, knocking down shots, and pushing the pace all game long.

Right behind him was #15 Collin Roberts, who added another strong performance with 21 points, continuing his impressive weekend in Kansas City.

The Dawgs “Team Impact Player of the Game” honors went to #2 Grant Simpson, who finished with 12 points while bringing tremendous hustle, energy, and toughness on both ends of the court. His effort helped spark multiple Dawgs runs throughout the game.

Additional Dawgs contributions included:
🔥 #9 Cesar Lozano – 11 points
🔥 #12 Alonso Baca – 8 points
🔥 #3 Darian Santillano – 5 points and several huge defensive stops
🔥 #6 Zakary Gurney – 2 points
🔥 #22 Freshman Chris Parra – 2 points

The story of the game was the Dawgs defense. Their constant pressure, trapping, rotations, and aggressive man-to-man defense completely wore down Missouri United as the game progressed. The Dawgs forced turnovers, controlled the pace, and turned defense into offense all afternoon long.

Coach Ed Morgan was extremely proud of the team’s effort and intensity, especially their commitment to defense and playing together as one unit.

“The guys played hard from start to finish and never backed down. Our defense set the tone and our energy kept building. Missouri United didn’t know what hit them.”

The Morgan Dawgs Elite came out hungry Friday night in Kansas City and delivered one of the strongest defensive performances in program history, defeating Texas Ballers Elite 17U by a commanding score of 55-38 at the Recruit Look Kansas City Live event. From the opening tip, the Dawgs set the tone with relentless pressure defense, trapping, aggressive rotations, and nonstop hustle that completely wore down the Texas squad throughout the game. The Dawgs connected on an impressive 10 three-pointers while dominating on the defensive end and forcing Texas Ballers into a long night offensively.

Leading the way offensively was Dawgs sharpshooter #7 Samuel Rich, who poured in a game-high 20 points, knocking down big shots and helping ignite the Dawgs offense throughout the contest.

Right behind him was #15 Collin Roberts, who continued his strong play with 18 points, attacking from all levels and helping keep momentum firmly on the Dawgs side.

The Dawgs “Team Impact Player of the Game” honors went to #6 Zakary Gurney, whose hustle, energy, toughness, and defensive intensity helped spark the entire team. Gurney finished with 8 points and brought the type of effort that does not always show up fully on the stat sheet but changes the entire flow of the game. Additional contributions came from: #2 Grant Simpson – 5 points, #9 Cesar Lozano – 4 points, #12 Alonso Baca – 2 points

The Dawgs defense was relentless all night long, with players flying around the court, communicating, trapping hard, and making every possession difficult. Special recognition also went to #2 Darian Santillano, whose defensive pressure and effort helped set the tone for the Dawgs’ defensive identity throughout the game.

Assistant Coach Ashley Panem praised the team’s defensive effort after the game, calling it:

“Probably the best man-to-man defensive game we have ever played.”

Head Coach Ed Morgan said he was extremely proud of the way the Dawgs competed from start to finish and loved the team’s intensity and effort throughout the entire game. “I’m very proud of how the team played tonight. The guys never let up defensively and stayed locked in the entire game.
