This might be one of the hardest messages Iโve ever had to write.
After more than a decade of brunching and running together, itโs with a heavy heart that I share that weโve made the difficult decision to cancel The bRUNch Run for this year.
Our small but mighty team has been working our ๐ off to bring this event to life, but after reviewing the numbers, we simply couldnโt make the math math.
Between steep tariffs, the loss of key sponsorships due to the tariffs, and the challenging economic landscape, weโve hit a financial wall. Like many small businesses, weโve felt the weight of these changesโhard.
As the founder and race director, I take full responsibility. While Iโve done everything I canโfrom early ordering to seeking out new partnershipsโI wasnโt prepared for a year like this.
We donโt have the reserves to pull from, and I can no longer personally fund what it would take to produce this race to the standard youโve come to expect from us.
If youโve already signed up for this yearโs race, please know that youโll be receiving a full refund, and weโve already sent a separate email with details about the refund process.
Now for a little sunshine โ๏ธ โ this isnโt the end. Our run club isnโt going anywhere. Weโre pivoting, playing, and figuring out what the next batch of pancakes looks like.
We started this race to create a joyful, community-driven experienceโand when weโre able to bring that magic back, youโll be the first to know.
