Winter is upon us and, for those of you here in Colorado, the mountain snow has been wonderful! Are you no longer able to get your snow sport fix via alpine skiing? If so, consider snowshoeing!

The aerobic benefits are terrific and it is much easier on your joints, particularly your knees; the cushion of the snow allows for low-impact but effective activity. Using poles provides added stability as well as an upper body workout.

Snowshoeing is not only beneficial physically, but it is also good for the soul. It is so peaceful; often all you hear is the crunch of the snow beneath your snowshoes.

So give it a try! The learning curve is minimal and the fresh air is key during these colder months.
