🥬 My Favorite Green Smoothie Recipe 🥬

Every so often, I like to hit the reset button and give my body a little boost — and this green smoothie never fails. It’s packed with greens, fiber, and fresh flavor to start your day feeling refreshed and energized! 💪

Here’s what’s in it:
✨ 12 oz. water
✨ 2 servings vanilla protein powder
✨ 1 head romaine lettuce (washed & chopped)
✨ 1 heaping cup baby spinach
✨ 2 stalks of celery (chopped)
✨ 1 apple (cubed)
✨ ½ cup frozen pineapple
✨ Juice of 1 lemon

Blend it up:
1️⃣ Mix water + protein powder first.
2️⃣ Add lettuce, blend smooth.
3️⃣ Add spinach + celery, blend again.
4️⃣ Finish with apple, pineapple & lemon juice.
5️⃣ Pour, sip, and feel amazing. 🌿

Makes two 20 oz smoothies — share one or save it for later!

🧘 Focus Five for Fall: #5 Mindful Recovery

Recovery is training, too. Taking time for stretching, yoga, or even 10 minutes of mobility work helps your body recharge, prevent injury, and keep your progress sustainable.

Why it matters:
✨ Improves flexibility and range of motion
✨ Reduces muscle soreness and stiffness
✨ Boosts circulation to speed up recovery
✨ Lowers stress and promotes better sleep
✨ Helps you stay consistent by preventing burnout

One of my favorite habits is ending a workout with 5 minutes of stretching. It’s simple, effective, and your body will thank you for it — not just this fall, but for years to come.

👉 This week: Add a short recovery session (stretching, foam rolling, or yoga flow) after your workouts.

🏃‍♂️ Focus Five for Fall: #4 Consistent Movement

When it comes to fitness, consistency beats perfection. Whether it’s a walk, jog, weight session, or quick home workout — daily movement boosts energy, improves mood, and strengthens your health.

For me, that might look like hitting the heavy bag, 20 minutes on the spin bike, or a quick 15-minute lift before training clients. The point isn’t perfection — it’s showing up. Movement done regularly (even in small doses) always wins over the “perfect” workout done occasionally.

👉 Your challenge this week: Schedule 3 workouts — even just 20 minutes each. Put them in your calendar and treat them like appointments. Trust me, consistency pays off!

🚫 Focus Five for Fall: #3 Cut Back on Processed Foods

Processed foods aren’t “off-limits,” but the more we fuel up on whole foods, the better our energy, recovery, and overall health will be.

Yes, I love the convenience of a granola bar or a quick 7-11 snack when I’m driving from client to client. But here’s the reality 👉 many processed foods are loaded with added sugars, sodium, and preservatives. Over time, that can:
⚡ Spike (and crash) your energy
🛑 Slow down recovery and performance
💧 Cause water retention and bloating
💔 Increase risk of long-term health issues like heart disease and diabetes

Here are some strategies that help me avoid processed foods:
➡️ Start my day with a green smoothie of spinach, romaine, riced cauliflower, pineapple, and ginger... yum!
➡️ An apple is my favorite snack if I want something a little sweet. 🍎
➡️ A handful of pistachios is a perfect nibble on a busy afternoon.

👉 Your challenge this week: Swap one processed snack (chips, cookies, soda) for a whole-food alternative (fruit, nuts, sparkling water). Small swaps add up to big results over time!

🥦 Focus Five for Fall: #2 Eat More Veggies

Veggies are the real MVP: they boost fiber, keep you fuller for longer, and even support recovery from training.

Here’s a real-life example 👉 When I go out to dinner, I’ll often order a salad as my main course with some protein (chicken or steak are my go-tos)… and yes, sometimes a beer too 🍺 — because it’s all about balance!

Do I do this every time? Nope. But swapping in a salad instead of a heavier entrée once in a while means:
✅ More fiber
✅ Fewer calories (without feeling deprived)
✅ Feeling satisfied and energized

Add an extra serving of veggies to one meal every day this week — or swap in an entrée salad next time you’re out. Little changes like this add up big over time!

🍂 Every fall, I notice the same thing: people looking to reset, refocus, and get back on track with their goals. With the change of season and the back-to-school energy of August and September, it feels like the perfect time to realign with your fitness and wellness.

That’s why I’ve created my Focus Five for Fall — five simple habits designed to help you feel stronger, healthier, and more energized as we move into the new season.

Over the next week, I’ll share each habit with you one by one, so you can start putting them into practice.

Focus Five for Fall Habit #1 — Hydration 💧

Even being slightly dehydrated can affect your energy, focus, and workouts. So staying hydrated is one of the simplest ways to feel stronger, healthier, and more energized.

Here’s why water matters:
💧 Fuels your muscles + boosts performance
💧 Helps recovery & prevents cramping
💧 Supports metabolism & fat loss
💧 Sharpens focus + brainpower
💧 Keeps digestion, skin, and overall health in check

Quick Tip: Aim for 2–3 liters a day or half of your body weight in ounces. Start your morning with a glass of water, and keep a bottle nearby all day.

Remember... when you take care of the basics, the results follow. Hydration is your foundation for success!

👉 Stay tuned — Habit #2 of my Focus Five is coming soon!
