Working on the 911 backdate in Central Oregon

This is my early 60's Bendix Saphire 1 ("Tombstone") 6volt Radio that I found on Craigslist last year. I sent it to R & B Vintage Auto radio and Richard did a full conversion. Looks old, but is 12v with Bluetooth, voice command, hands free phone, USB, aux, AM FM, 45 watts x 4 plus rca sub jack. Watch YouTube video:

My tie-dye skills are lacking...

Yesterday, on the way to Bug In, after driving a half hour my 1600 dp in my single cab lost power. I turned around, limped home, searched internet, then went to the event in my BMW.
I discussed the problem in depth with Chris of NuVintage. When I told him I installed electronic sensor to replace points/condensor, he asked if my truck was a generator (it is 12v) and said some sensors don't like generators.
I removed it (burnt unit pictured) and replaced with points/condenser, reset timing, then drove for an hour and a half without problems! Thanks Chris, It's running great!
