Skyline Brittany Club

THANK YOU DOES NOT SEEM ENOUGH TO SHOW THE GRATITUDE WE HAVE FOR THE PARTICIPANTS AND VOLUNTEERS THAT MADE OUR SKYLINE BRITTANY CLUB SPECIALTY SHOW A SUCCESS.
We hosted with the American Brittany Club for the American Brittany Club Summer Specialty and thank you Purina Pro Plan as our American Brittany club sponsor.
The Island Grove Regional Park in Greeley, Colorado with the Greeley Kennel Club was a truly wonderful show location and all the volunteers, officers and directors made our weekend special. Our show was in honor of the life of our Skyline member, Christine Ward-Weber. With her passing, David Weber donated beautiful artwork done by Chris to our specialty show. The winners of the artwork are fortunate to have her work that is her last. Joan and Ernie Peters, our esteemed retired members also donated collectable ceramic items as class trophies. Additionally our Skyline members donated toward the classes: BOB - Alice Janssen, BOW- Daniel and Denise Collins, BOS - Maurya Ord, Dan, Best Veteran-Alan Alan Tina Morrison, Hunting dog and bitch class- Dawn Craig, Best Puppy in Regular classes- David Bieber,Best Puppy Sweepstakes- Ann Zadrazil, Best Veteran Sweepstakes-Leslee and Jim Masolotte. We thank our member donors Jeff Hoskins, Barry Koepke, Tim Gonzales and Lori Hugh. We welcomed to Colorado visitors and competitors from Pennsylvania, Missouri, Georgia, Maryland, Kansas, Arizona, Nevada, Idaho, Utah and California. Colorado breeders and competitors did well in winning the Best in Puppy Sweepstakes as well as Best of Opposite Puppy Sweepstakes, Winners, Best of Winners and Reserve Winners Dog and an Award of Merit for the Fyrebyrd Kennel. Best of Breed was won by the Trio Kennel of Colorado as well as Best Puppy. We were honored to have the ABC Past President Hank Hartnek and his wife Dee Hartnek with us for the weekend festivities. Cindy and Andrew Heydinger brought our guest of honor David Weber. Linda McCartney East Coast Director and Leslie Ann Stalker were very helpful in fundraising on line. Joy Crissler has bountiful knowledge that she willingly shared with us , plus her husband Pat and grand kids. Robin Tomasi West Coast Director entertained us with her treasure trove of old show photos edited to a slide show first edition. Wait til you see it! Andrea Jordan Lane and Terry Hilliard helped with breakfast, lunches and golf cart shuttles so we could cheer on our BOB and OH winners in the group ring for the entire weekend. The drawing had tables full of goodies and was well run by Anne Zadrazil and Alice Janssen. Additionally, Anne ran a competative 50/50 drawing in which the winnings helped the travel fund for Jackie Nicol from Arizona. Maurya Ord was our chef extroidanaire in her presentation of the taco bar. In true Skyline fashion, no one left the bunkhouse hungry. We finished off the banquet with a glorious marble cake with the Skyline Brittany club logo adorning the top. Our Skyline logo was designed by Chris Ward-Weber 💖
The auction was indeed lively and we were honored to have our own Skyline auctioneer David Bieber in attendance. Dinner music was provided by our long time friend and show handler Bill Massey. We enjoyed Bill's renditions of Patsy Kline and Elvis Presley hits during and after dinner, and he was accompanied by his beautiful wife Odebt. Bill's music was especially nice as our always helpful Skyline crew cleaned up the bunkhouse to wish all a good night.
