Sabin Soccer for Success

Hi Everybody! With the size of our school Soccer for Success has been difficult to manage in the past. It has been especially difficult to randomly create teams when we have SO MANY applications. I have not forgotten how much our students need sports and team building in their lives though :)

I am working on at least having some "pick up" style games a few times a month at Sabin after school. Parents would need to accompany students at this point but I do have a few soccer balls and nets for now. I will send out more information as the school year gets closer.

¡Hola a todos! Con el gran tamaño de nuestra escuela, Soccer for Success ha sido difícil de manejar en el pasado. Ha sido especialmente difícil crear equipos al azar cuando tenemos tantas aplicaciones. No he olvidado lo mucho que nuestros estudiantes necesitan deportes y tiempo con un equipo en sus vidas :)

Estoy trabajando en tener al menos algunos juegos de estilo "pick up" unas cuantas veces al mes en Sabin después de la escuela. Los padres tendrían que acompañar a los estudiantes en este punto, pero ahora tengo unos cuantos balones de fútbol y redes. Enviaré más información a medida que se acerque el año escolar.

Teams have been made through a random lottery process and notices were sent home today. If you did not receive one ,unfortunately your student will be put on the wait list. Over 200 applications were received for only 60 spots. For those who were drawn, practice starts Wednesday 7th after school.

Hay aplicaciones sobre las mesas fuera de la oficina. No tenemos mucho espacio así agarra una y llénela pronto. Val puede aceptarlas :)

There are applications on the tables outside of the office. We do not have a lot of spaces so grab one and fill it out soon. Val is accepting them :)

Hi everybody!

I am hoping that we can still have Soccer for Success at Sabin this upcoming school year. The structure has changed a bit within the program but we are still eligible!! For those of you who are not familiar, this is an amazing program that allows students to play soccer FOR FREE and all equipment is provided. The impact it has had in the past two years on community, academics, motivation, self-esteem, problem-solving, and so many more to mention, has been incredible.

I am looking for coaches who are interested and can commit to the season or a portion thereof. It is a 10-12 week season, three days a week and it pays around $25-30 per practice which is 3:15-4:45. The days will be either Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Monday, Wednesday, Thursday.

There is an option of splitting a team with another teacher/ friend/ neighbor as well so you would only coach one day one week and two days the next week, then one day week, two days the next week, etc.
-for example you always coach mondays, your co-coach always does wednesdays, and you split thursdays-
