For those that sacrificed it all so that we may enjoy the freedoms that we love today. Always remember and honor them while you enjoy your day. God bless our heroes.

Agree 💯….total ego lift and usually done with poor form.
Dorian Yates believes most lifters keep deadlifts alive because of ego, not because they’re the best muscle-building exercise. In his view, heavy deadlifts create unnecessary lower-back fatigue, increase injury risk, and drain recovery faster than safer movements that can build the same — or even better — results.
That’s why Yates often favored controlled bodybuilding movements like hack squats, machine rows, leg presses, and strict isolation work later in his career. For him, the goal was never lifting the heaviest weight in the gym. The goal was maximum muscle stimulation with minimum risk.

Congratulations to all the competitors at our first ever Dark Horse Powerlifting Mock Meet! The energy was high and the weight was heavy! For several it was their first ever Power Lifting experience so they learned a lot.
Congrats to Edgar Ramos and Kaitlyn Richardson for winning the respective Men’s and Women’s title with the highest DOTS score!
Thanks to all the help we had to make this a success…especially Bradon Golon and Dick Byers for getting the event going and the USPA judges that volunteered their time Nicole Montes Gina Warner and Howard Blackman. And thanks to Randy Fischer and Jared Vejrostek for help in set-up, managing weights and tear down.
