Walking towards 38 like…

Year 37 was a lot of fast-paced, get-after-it energy.

Year 38, my focus is going to be just that - FOCUS.

We’ll see what that leads to 😏

I’ll keep you posted!

Mobility and diastasis.

Mobility is so important for everyone. It’s especially important when you’re healing your diastasis!

Thoracic mobility and hip mobility make your pelvic floor and diaphragm happy.

When both of your diaphragms are happy, your breath mechanics are better.

When your breathing mechanics are better, your core can function better, too!

We need more than just core work to heal a diastasis. You need full body strength, a balanced pelvic floor AND mobility work. … And progressive overload from a balanced program…but that’s for another post.

Spring = white shoes!

What are your favorite shoes to lift in, mamas?

Aside from things like comfort and cuteness, your shoes can actually make or break your progress! Your connection to your foot directly influences your connection to the rest of your kinetic chain. (Like your pelvic floor and your glutes!) This is why so many people preach about training barefoot! Barefoot shoes are the next best option. Buttttt a lot of them are not cute, right?

I’ve been a shoe collector for years and tend to switch them up every 6 months or so, but for the past year, I’ve been all in with because they’re CUTE and functional and they last! I think I’m up to 8 pairs 😅🫶🏼

Ted talk done. If you want to try some at a discount or want to chat about how much I love them, reach out!

Hey new friends!

The past couple weeks have been NUTTY! My hubs had shoulder surgery to repair three tears, we had to put one of our beloved pups to sleep, and Thanksgiving was in there. Where does the time go? Anyone else feel like it’s absolutely unacceptable that it is December?!

Let’s take a deep breath real quick. I know I need it. Relax your jaw, relax your shoulders, close your eyes and breathe all the way down to your hips. Better? Kinda!

Thanks for being here. I love sharing content that inspires you to try new things. I love teaching you how to feel your core coordinate with other muscles in your body to help you find stronger connections. You’ll find exercises that range from beginner to advanced for help with prenatal or postpartum journeys as well as exercises for anyone that wants or needs to feel a stronger connection to their core and pelvic floor.

I own a kickass gym in Denver called and it brings me immense joy to connect with the Denver fitness community through that venue! I train my in-person clients there and we offer at least 8 classes a day for group fitness that I program with lots of love!

I’m a firm believer in moving your body in ways that you enjoy. There is no one-size-fits-all for fitness. Variety is great! So is sticking to a program! As long as you are wearing shoes, you’re good to go ☺️

I am a coach! I will sing the praises of The Bloom Method all. day. long. 🎉 Get into Studio Bloom to move with me through follow along classes and targeted core programs!

I’m a cuspy Gemini (June 21) and a 2w3 on the enneagram 🥳 being in my kitchen while building a playlist is my happy place. I’ve birthed 3 kiddos that are currently 7, 5 and 3 with my bestie of a husband and we love living in Denver! For the most fun, you can catch me at live music with friends or out for a special dinner that involves lots of shared plates 🤩

I promise to get back to posting the good content that you’re here for in the next couple days. One more weekend of taking lots of deep breaths and then I’ll be good to go 🙃

Thanks for being here! Let me know if we have anything in common!

Permanent spot on my feed for this because the past two days with this girl have been inspiring.

Motherhood is hard.

It’s the best and also it’s not. There are moments of gratitude and there are moments of solitude. Each day is filled with a million highs and often just as many lows.

This girl - my middle. My Kady lady. She is so special. Our bond is special. She often teaches me lessons that I didn’t know I needed to learn.

I think that’s what this ride is about. Having eyes open to the things you aren’t looking for and then appreciating the smallest things. …because sometimes those small things become really big.

Healing a diastasis is multifaceted.

Or at least, it should be!

It’s not about the width of your gap - that has more to do with aesthetics than function.

It’s about tension.

Tension in your midline tissue AND the tension you’re holding in your body.

— If you clench your glutes to find stability, that pressure is going to press into your weakened midline.

— If you hold tension in your back, that pressure is going to press forward into your weakened midline.

— If you hold tension in your neck/shoulders, that pressure will travel to your weakened midline.

Look at the whole picture. Full body strength and lots of mobility work to balance things out!

Focused core work is important, but what you’re doing with the other 23.5 hours of your day is also important.

“Can I do a plank with diastasis?”

Short answer, maybe!

Longer answer ⬇️

HOW you’re performing the exercise matters more than the exercise itself.

You could use planks to heal your diastasis when they’re done properly because a plank requires full engagement of your entire core!

If your pressure management is off or your strategy is re**us dominance rather than transverse ab recruitment, then a plank is not going to help you heal your diastasis and could prolong your healing instead.

Patience, progression, pressure management = improving diastasis

Happy place!

On Sundays, I program sessions for my clients, start planning my classes and start building playlists.

It’s one of my favorite days of the week. I’m feeling grateful for my current client base and class schedule. Each day is different, each client is inspiring, each class is fun and making people smile as the reach the other side of discomfort to find strength is seriously the coolest.

Who am I gonna see in class this week??

Psst. Hi.

This is me.

I’m a coach.
I’m a trainer.
I’m a barre teacher.
I’m a mom of 3 (3 dogs & 3 kids).
I’m a wife.
I’m a gym owner.
I’m a postpartum corrective exercise specialist.
I’m a Gemini.
I’m a sister.
I’m an enneagram 2w3.
I’m a forever student.

I love helping anyone feel strong. I especially love helping moms feel strong throughout the motherhood journey.
If I were to niche myself down, my ideal client is postpartum with clear goals and a couple obstacles. I don’t like to put myself or my clients in boxes, though.

I love to cook, I love kettlebells, I love music, I love my friends, I love summer, I love the beach, I love a new tube of mascara, I love ice cream, I love sunsets, I love getting lost in a book, I love continuing education and I love fitness. I love all of fitness.

It’s been a minute since I did one of these posts. So, hi!

Tell me why you’re here! Tell me something fun! Do you love ice cream as much as I do? 😉

Gratitude post.

This week I teach my final two classes at (Mon 9am / Thurs 930am)

I’ve been teaching barre classes at TBS for 4.5 years! Through two pregnancies and babies, through countless members’ pregnancies and babies, through Covid, through so much. TBS and fostered the greatest community of wonderful people and I am so thankful for every single member and every single class.

Thank you for showing up when I used to teach the 630am classes, when I taught the Saturday classes, when I taught sweat classes by accident 🙃 and when I helped you find muscles you didn’t know could be sore the next day 🥳
I love teaching barre (stay tuned for my new teaching schedule!) and I am especially thankful for the freedom that Carlie gave us as teachers to really find our individual styles and voices.

Thank you Barre Standard community for your amazing effort, your smiles (and dirty looks 😏) and for always showing up!! So much love ❤️

Who am I going to see this week?! 🤩

✨36✨

Celebrating 36 today! 35 was great, truly. Watching my kiddos grow and learn and smile while pursuing goals and chasing my own smiles was the name of the game last year.

More of the same this year! I’m feeling grateful for figuring out what I want to be when I grow up. Grateful for my support system to make it all possible, too ❤️

Looking forward to helping more mamas with , motivating peeps at , adventuring with my little fam and pursuing strength on my own! 20kg sn**ch, I’m coming for you 🥳

Thanks for getting my good side 😝

I was surprised by this photo. My main focus lately has been on slowing myself down. I’ve been challenging my weights more, focusing on my alignment big time and pressing the reset button throughout my sets. It’s annoying. Honestly, super annoying. Frustrating might be a better word. At the end, though, it’s really satisfying. My body feels good, I feel accomplished at the end of the frustrating path and then I’m able to move with consistency because I’m not in pain the next day. Basically, slow and steady really does win the race.

Reminder that lifting heavier than you think you can stimulates more change! Intentional movement with challenging weight consistently is going to change your muscles!
