DENVER – The University of Denver's Magness Arena will once again play host to the second annual Colorado Alumni Faceoff as former DU Pioneers and Colorado Avalanche players square off on Sunday, Aug. 23 at 5 p.m. MT.

No surprise here as Johnny Hicks is the Bill Masterton MVP for the the 2025-26 season.
Johnny went unbeaten during the campaign (16-0-1) and backstopped the Pioneers to their 11th national championship. His .957 save percentage is an NCAA record and his 1.19 goal-against average is tied for the 2nd-best in college hockey history. He made a career-high 49 saves in DU's double-OT win vs. Michigan in the Frozen Four before stopping 29-of-30 shots in the national championship game against Wisconsin.

Proud to have DU hockey alum Angelo Ricci as this year's recipient of the Daniel Ritchie Spirit Award.
The honor is given to an alumnus or friend of DU hockey that embodies DU Emeritus Chancellor Daniel Ritchie's spirit of giving back to the school – not only financially, but with time and effort.
Angelo played for the Pioneers from 1991-1995 and ranks 13th all-time in school history with 161 points (64g/97a). He has worked with many future, current and pro Pioneers over the years, and he volunteered his time and provided guidance to the coaching staff this past season at select home and road games, including during the Frozen Four in Las Vegas.

Eric Pohlkamp is this year's recipient of the Dallas Gaume Offensive Player Award.
He led the Pioneers in scoring with both 18 goals and 39 points, leading all NCAA defensemen in each category as well. He also ranked first in the country with 188 shots on goal and led DU with 83 blocked shots.

Boston Buckberger is the winner of the Pioneers' Keith Magnuson Best Defensive Player Award.
The junior blueliner played in all 43 games and recorded a career-high 10 goals while adding 19 assists. He also posted a +32 plus/minus rating, 18 PIM and 43 blocked shots.

Kent Anderson inks his first pro contract with his hometown club.

DENVER – Denver Pioneers hockey senior captain Kent Anderson signed his first professional contract on Friday, inking a one-year contract with the Calgary Wranglers of the American Hockey League.

The rookie goalie posted a 16-0-1 record in 21 appearances and 16 starts and set DU records with a 1.19 goals-against average and .957 save percentage.

Kent Anderson is the Pioneers' Dr. Art Mason Top Scholar-Athlete for the second time in his career.
The Calgary, Alberta, native played in his 150th career game in the NCAA title contest and will walk next month after earning his bachelor's degree in business finance at DU.
