MEMBER HIGHLIGHT ANNA PASTOR

What made you choose to come to Omnia in the first place?
I met someone on my first visit to Denver who thankfully brought me to the gym after I moved here! I was so new to Colorado, I dove in and never looked back! The community has kept me close.

What was your life like before you started at the gym? What was your level of fitness and health?
Before Omnia it was all yoga & dance. I hadn't leveled up outside that for years, even though I tried jiu jitsu and boxing. My fitness level wasn't at a stamina of persistence and resilience outside what I'd known. Now, my dance training and yoga practice has been so enhanced by the training at Omnia and I'm getting back to boxing with greater endurance. Looking back, changes to my diet and starting to run helped little by little to set a foundation for CrossFit.

What’s the single biggest goal you’ve achieved health-wise from being here?
Honestly the change in mindset. As a dancer I was exposed to an unhealthy obsession with body image. Deep down I always admired muscle and strength but never knew it was possible for me. The consistency and rigor at Omnia has given me that muscular definition I didn't know I could have and the coaches + community have shown me it was always there waiting for me.

What’s the single biggest goal you’ve achieved strength and performance wise in the gym?
Completing the King & Queen competition was a feat for me! Thanks to everyone who partnered me and Jacob for encouraging me to do it.

What's your favorite movement in the gym?
Right now, kipping is my favorite!

What's your favorite thing to do outside of the gym?
The mountains, meditating, doing breathwork.

What's your favorite thing about Omnia?
The community, the support, and that people recognize individual strengths while demonstrating how you could improve.

If someone were on the fence about joining what would you say to them to inspire them to join?
I didn't believe the hype about CrossFit either and it turns out you don't need to - the community has got you and the results will speak for themselves!

MEMBER HIGHLIGHT: GUS LUNDQUIST

What made you choose to come to Omnia in the first place?
I moved from a little further outside Denver to Wash Park in 2019 so I had to find a new gym. Omnia was by far the best I tried, and only 5 minutes from my house.

What was your life like before you started at the gym? What was your level of fitness and health?
I've always had an active lifestyle. I was a college golfer, then played professionally for 2 years. I always recognized the importance of fitness to my performance, but it wasn't till starting Crossfit in 2018 that I became committed to reaching another level.

What’s the single biggest goal you’ve achieved health-wise from being here?
I have more energy and feel better on a daily basis than I ever have in my life.

What’s the single biggest goal you’ve achieved strength and performance wise in the gym?
Its not specifically in the gym, but my main reason for training is bowhunting the mountains. Being at Omnia has helped me get to a point where I feel limitless on where I can go, how far I can go, and how long I stay.

What's your favorite movement in the gym?
Power Clean

What's your favorite thing to do outside of the gym?
Bowhunting. Outside of the season, I love to be outside however I can. Skiing, Hiking, backpacking or anything else in the mountains.

What's your favorite thing about Omnia?
The programming and the level of fitness so many people have at the gym. Essentially always being beat by someone else in the class motivates me to push harder.

If someone were on the fence about joining what would you say to them to inspire them to join?
Just try it. I'll be shocked if you leave.

MEMBER HIGHLIGHT!

What made you choose to come to Omnia in the first place?
When I moved to Denver in March 2022 I dropped into a few different gyms around town really looking for a community that loved CrossFit, was supportive, and pushed everyone to get better. Omnia fit the bill perfectly.

What was your life like before you started at the gym? What was your level of fitness and health?
Before I started doing CrossFit I was in a partying phase, my fitness level and health were not great at that time. Prior to that I had been involved in sports from a young age into college.

What’s the single biggest goal you’ve achieved health-wise from being here?
Gaining muscle and weight has always been an uphill battle for me, so it has been cool to see numbers on the scale slowly going up.

What’s the single biggest goal you’ve achieved strength and performance wise in the gym?
My goal in the gym is to see consistent progress, and if that happens I'll know that I'm moving in the right direction. Last week I hit a 35lb back squat PR which was awesome!

What's your favorite movement in the gym?
This is tough. I'd have to go with bar muscle-ups.

What's your favorite thing to do outside of the gym?
Hike with my dog, Bear.

What's your favorite thing about Omnia?
My favorite thing is the people. Everyone has been very welcoming since I started coming to Omnia in April of this year, and I can say that I've made good friends already.

If someone were on the fence about joining what would you say to them to inspire them to join?
I would say to them that CrossFit is more than the physical changes and gains you'll experience. Your entire outlook on life will improve.

MEMBER HIGHLIGHT

I usually attend the 6:00pm class
My personal trainer at the time brought me here, and I've never left!

Before the gym, I would hike, bike and do stuff on the weekend, but I mostly lived the sedentary desk job life. I had a lot of back pain and high blood pressure. My younger brother came to visit for the summer and his stipulation was that we had to get a gym membership while he was here. I got one and like good corporate gyms, they got me to pay for a personal trainer. We'll, that trainer eventually brought me to Omnia!!

Single biggest goal health wise is that I exercise almost every day and am mentally and physically healthy from it. I no longer have back pain or high blood pressure!

Gym goal: making the CrossFit Open age qualifier last year. Thank you, Falan for pushing me!

Favorite movement: box jump overs

Favorite hobby: singing and hiking

Favorite Omnia: the great people and the challenging programming

Inspiration: This community will support you and push you to your fullest potential.
