Then and now at Wellshire.

In 1954, the Denver Post photographed the Wellshire Women’s Golf Club officers gathered around their golf bags before the start of the season. More than 70 years later, the tradition is still going strong.

At this year’s Wellshire Women’s Golf League Spring Luncheon, the current officers recreated the photo as a tribute to the women who helped build the league and the community around it.

As we celebrate Wellshire Golf Course’s 100-year anniversary, moments like this remind us that the history of the course isn’t just about the fairways and greens — it’s about the people and traditions that have carried through generations.

Here’s to the women who started it, and the women continuing it today.

🏆 Babe Lind #6 slays the dragon 🏆

In a tight semifinal matchup, Kennedy – Babe Lind #6 knocks off Wellshire #10 by a score of 23–18 and advances to the Hardest Hole Tournament final.

This one had some history behind it. Back in the fall, when we first asked golfers to vote for the hardest holes in Denver Golf, Wellshire #10 actually received the most votes overall.

But in this round, Babe Lind #6 took it down.

Kennedy – Babe Lind #6 is heading to the championship round. We'll have the last semi-final matchup shortly, and then it's on to the final, just in time for March Madness!

An unfortunate reality of a beautiful winter of golf is the divots. Here’s Ron making the fairway divots go away in one fell swoop!

🏆 Hardest Hole Tournament – Semifinal 1 🏆

The bracket is heating up.

Wellshire – Hole #10
vs
Kennedy – Babe Lind #6

Two holes that dominated their first-round matchups are now facing off for a spot in the final.

⛳ Wellshire #10
A 474-yard par 4 from the tips that just doesn’t let up. The fairway is split — clear the first section and you’ve still got a long, uphill approach. Miss it and lay up short? Congrats, now you’re hitting a very long uphill second just to sniff the green. Even good drives don’t feel good here.

⛳ Kennedy – Babe Lind #6
Babe Lind #6 is a long par 4, feeling longer if you end up on the left side of the fairway after your drive. The giant tree at the end of the first section of the fairway will make your long approach to the green a far more difficult one, but even planting your drive in the center of the fairway leaves a long shot over the creek to the green. If you mis-hit this second shot, drops will destroy your chance at anything other than a round-breaking score as you head to number 7.

💬 Vote by commenting:
Wellshire #10 or Babe Lind #6

Voting will stay open until Friday morning at 9 am — plenty of time to debate it. Winner advances to the championship round.
