We want to say how much we appreciate you all for making this event absolutely spectacular! It was an incredible turnout & to have you all together in our family based event truly means a lot. Everyone was a hoot and it was great to see the connection and comradery. Jokes, stories, values, it really was like a family reunion - on another level!

We had tremendous compliments:

~ "This is a historical event" seeing everyone together at the Meet & Greet. The best of the best sitting together and sharing the same humility & greatness at one time. Multiple lineages & multiple styles.

Something you don't get to see often and you could tell they were just comfortable with their own skills". Watching our community and connection to every individual. Everyone was valued and brought something to the table.

Two years!

Since I was in the ocean up to my chest, minding my own business, when a group of individuals joined me in the water. "What is it that you are doing? We came out here to join you." 'I am practicing my kung fu, would you like to learn kung fu in the ocean?' From there I continued on and taught the people that joined me out in the water.

Walking back to the beach from the ocean I would over hear the people say "I would pay $200 for that".. from that moment on I knew I was going to open a kung fu school.

From then on it's been a game of time, of breath, and of structure. Greatful for my location! Greatful for the events and marketing I've persued! And greatful for the challenges that lead me to such events:

I was looking for a trainer. I had visited my cousin in San Diego who had made a complete conversion of himself weightlifting. I was very impressed! I decided I wanted to either go into kickboxing or weightlifting. Either way, I needed a trainer. A leader, a professional, a true master of their accomplishments. At the time my roommate suggested I check out his Kung fu school. It was located in an acupuncture facility with an entrance in the back. The room was tiny! Here I was with about 7 other students & thrown straight into the deep end. It was believed that I wouldn't last. My first class was on the five elements and I was hooked! Later on after demonstration after demonstration I knew this was for me. I told my roommate that first night when we got home that I wanted to train everyday and learn absolutely everything..

My pursuit, my drive, and my dear trainer Master Phillip Romero ..Without my Sifu (meaning: father/teacher) I would have never been able to touch the sky. Nor move with the oceans. Nor structure my mountains, trees, and rivers.. and breathe with our planet.

Our local friend & teacher here in Denver CO; Chi Hsieh (Shuai-Jiao John) has been training training in many disciplines for 40 years. Through his years he has crossed hands with many practitioners and has become enveloped in the Shuai-Jiao community, including becoming a member of the US Shuai-Jiao Team.

Thinking back on what his teacher John Wang taught him:

"Don't be a copy machine or a form collector. When people say that your form is so pretty, don't be happy, it really means that you spent too much time to polish worthless dancing crap if you don't know how to use it! The time you spent to polish your forms is wasted if you don't understand what a single movement is trying to teach you."
