The Derby Fish and Game, along with the NWTF and VT Fish and Wildlife will be hosting a Women in the Outdoors event on Saturday, Sept. 19th. The subject will be Trapshooting and we hope it will be a great way for women to try trapshooting in a friendly, supportive group. The program will run from Noon to three PM. The event is limited to 17 participants so register ASAP. Register with the Vt Fish and Wildlife at the following link:

We held our Annual Ben Heath Memorial Trap Shoot today. The shoot was well attended with four squads of shooters. Before the shoot we shot practice doubles and played Annie Oakley. The Annie Oakley was won by Adrian with some fine long distance shooting! We also had an Wheel of Fortune game that was won by Bruce with Carol getting second. In the main event, the scores were high, 7 shooters were in the 90’s. Steve was our winner of the rotating trophy this year with the high score of 97. Roger A. placed second with a 95. Mouse was third with 94. Knight was the Junior winner with 89 and Ginger won the Ladies class. Congratulations to all! Thanks go out to everyone that helped make this a successful event, and the folks that travel to join us. Pictures include the trophy winners: L to R Steve, Roger A, Mouse, Knight and Ginger. We had a great day Sunday for our Derby Fish and Game Club Trap shoot. The competition was keen and some great scores were shot. Mouse took first place with 95x100 targets. Nathan was second with 94, Dan was third with 92 and Craig was fourth with 90. Knight took the Youth trophy with an 85.
