Meet Jillian (left) & Danielle (right)đź‘‹

Jillian recently had her first baby and Danielle is 29 weeks pregnant with her second. Both moms recently graduated from our Mom Strong Foundations cohort where we took 5 moms through the fundamentals of CrossFit and taught them the culture of our gym. Not only did the learn the basics before entering our regular group classes, they feel more confident in what they’re doing by making friends before their Day 1💪

I asked the moms what gave you the courage to do this, CrossFit can be super intimidating for some people so what made you brave to take the first step and here’s what some of them said⬇️

“After having Leah I wanted to do something for myself again. My husband’s cousin’s wife does CrossFit and always talked about how much she loved it so I figured why not. Seeing that you had the Mom Program really made me want to join because I could bring Leah with me. I was nervous walking in but I’m really glad I did!”

“I worked out before and during part of pregnancy. So after having Olivia and giving my body a chance to heal, I couldn’t wait to get moving again. I moved to Derry in the fall so I had to find a new gym anyway and I was so happy to see the mom’s group option! That won me over. I could workout with my baby by my side. Amazing!”

“As an adult I’ve only felt comfortable working out in class settings. I usually do aerial silk, but during pregnancy and post partum when I couldn’t participate, I struggled to workout and challenge myself. I’ve never really lifted weights so going to traditional gym felt intimidating. I recently moved to Derry and needed a group class option. When I saw the mom group posted I thought it would be great for finishing up my pregnancy and then having it when I’m healed postpartum. After my first I definitely didn’t prioritize working out because it was always complicated to schedule around feeding times etc, I feel like I’ll be able to prioritize working out by having the option to bring him with me!”

“I had postpartum anxiety with my first so I knew I needed something to help me mentally and physically.”

The best time to start working out was two months ago…

The second best time to start working out is today!

It’s not gonna be easy.
It’s actually gonna be pretty hard.
Especially if you’ve never been active.
Especially if you had a baby.

But guess what?
It literally is never going to get easier.

You’re gonna have more kids.
They’re gonna get older and their needs are going to become more complex.
You’re basically going to become a chauffeur for the next two decades.

If you don’t start now, if you keep pushing off the thing you know you should be doing - it’s only going to get harder.

We see people get a new job, move, have a baby, get injured and take time off and they NEVER come back when they say they will.

It starts with “just give me two weeks to get settled”.

Those two weeks become two months.
Those two months become two years.
Those two years become 5.

I’ve seen it. They don’t see it coming, but I do.

But you know what else I see?

The people who don’t stop.
The people who keep their habits alive.
The people who understand that each workout they do is making them better, physically and mentally and improving the quality of their lives one rep at a time.

Even the workouts that are interrupted by a screaming baby.
Even the workouts that are modified because you slept like crap the night before.
Even the workouts that are just “I made it today”.

When you join Breathe CrossFit you sign up for a lifetime membership.
We’re never not gonna stop caring about you.
We’re never gonna stop checking in on you.
We’re never gonna stop helping you when times get tough because they will get tough.
And that’s when we’ll be here for you.
Through the good and the bad.

If you don’t want that, don’t come to Breathe.

Meet Virginiađź‘‹

Like many of us moms, Virginia lost a little part of herself after having a baby. It’s a lot to juggle taking care of an infant, keeping the house clean, being a present wife, maintaining your own sanity, etc. she needed a place she could workout with her baby for her physical AND mental health. Then, she found our mom’s group.

Virginia joined our June Cohort of moms looking to feel better, move better, and get stronger with our Mom Strong Foundations. She trained once a week for 4 weeks to learn the fundamental movements of CrossFit and the culture of our gym before entering our group classes all in which babies and kids are welcome! She also got to do it along side other moms so she made friends before classes even started!

Comment “Mom Strong Foundations” if you want to join our next cohort in July! We’re limiting this to 5 spots, first come first serve. Once the spots are filled that’s it!

is crushing it!!!

Not only did all of the coaches vote for Phil to be awarded our member of the month because of how hard he works, his coachable attitude in class, and his friendliness towards anyone he meets…

He also so happened to gain 6lbs of muscle in 3 months🤯🤯🤯

How?

“I’ve been focusing on the things I was doing during the last nutrition challenge, not as strict though and still enjoying myself. If I need to, I know I can go back to tracking and get myself back on track.”

That’s exactly it. We’re not meant to be in a calorie deficit all the time. It’s good to be in periods of being in a deficit and maintaining. That makes it way more sustainable and enjoyable along the way!

Proud of you Phil! Keep up the great work and inspiring us all!!

Wanna be like Phil? Send us a message to see how we can help!
