Meet Jillian (left) & Danielle (right)đź‘‹
Jillian recently had her first baby and Danielle is 29 weeks pregnant with her second. Both moms recently graduated from our Mom Strong Foundations cohort where we took 5 moms through the fundamentals of CrossFit and taught them the culture of our gym. Not only did the learn the basics before entering our regular group classes, they feel more confident in what they’re doing by making friends before their Day 1💪
I asked the moms what gave you the courage to do this, CrossFit can be super intimidating for some people so what made you brave to take the first step and here’s what some of them said⬇️
“After having Leah I wanted to do something for myself again. My husband’s cousin’s wife does CrossFit and always talked about how much she loved it so I figured why not. Seeing that you had the Mom Program really made me want to join because I could bring Leah with me. I was nervous walking in but I’m really glad I did!”
“I worked out before and during part of pregnancy. So after having Olivia and giving my body a chance to heal, I couldn’t wait to get moving again. I moved to Derry in the fall so I had to find a new gym anyway and I was so happy to see the mom’s group option! That won me over. I could workout with my baby by my side. Amazing!”
“As an adult I’ve only felt comfortable working out in class settings. I usually do aerial silk, but during pregnancy and post partum when I couldn’t participate, I struggled to workout and challenge myself. I’ve never really lifted weights so going to traditional gym felt intimidating. I recently moved to Derry and needed a group class option. When I saw the mom group posted I thought it would be great for finishing up my pregnancy and then having it when I’m healed postpartum. After my first I definitely didn’t prioritize working out because it was always complicated to schedule around feeding times etc, I feel like I’ll be able to prioritize working out by having the option to bring him with me!”
“I had postpartum anxiety with my first so I knew I needed something to help me mentally and physically.”
