Are you trying to build your back muscles?
Here are our top 3 favorite exercises for developing a strong looking back…
1.) Rows - barbell, dumbbell, kettlebell, single arm, both arms, etc.
2.) Pull ups - strict, kipping, or assisted
3.) Deadlifts - even though the primary muscles being used are hamstrings & glutes, when you’re picking up a lot of weight off the ground you’ll be using your back muscles especially if you’re engaging them properly
Wanna double down on building your back muscles or any muscles for that matter? Eat your protein! Strive for a minimum of .7 times your body weight every single day!!

Meet Michelle 👋
Michelle is an extraordinary individual who works hard in all aspects of her lives!
She first began her fitness journey many, many years ago and discovered like most of us, she pushes herself more in a group environment! She’s had back surgeries and is now completing things she never thought would even be possible! Because of her work ethic and coachable demeanor she’s able to run, jump, and lift heavy things. The sky is the limit with Michelle & we’re so happy to be apart of her continuing fitness journey and can’t wait to see what she accomplishes next 🤩

Meet Matt 👋
Matt started his CrossFit journey years ago and quickly found out how much he enjoyed lifting heavy. So much so that Matt dove deeper into the powerlifting world of benching, squatting, and deadlifting and even participated in competitions! However, what he missed was the CrossFit community.
At Breathe, we do a little bit of everything. Lift heavy, run fast, burpees of coarse, & so much more. We have the most encouraging and supportive community who all push you and cheer for you as you crush your goals.
We’re so excited to be apart of your journey Matt and can’t wait to see what you accomplish next!
If you’re looking to meet new people & have fun getting fit, then go to breathecrossfit.com to get started today!

What’s the hardest part about getting fit?
Trying to do push ups with an inflatable costume on.
Just kidding…
Well that’s hard too BUT the hardest part about getting fit is…
1.) food is delicious
2.) establishing a routine
Food is delicious. But eating healthy can also be delicious. With the right spices, cooked the right way, healthy food can also be delicious. Try focusing on adding whole minimally processed foods to your diet opposed to eliminating “junk”. Do that until it becomes a habit. Then, add something else - & repeat. Follow this process for months & years and you’ll have a totally different diet and way of eating because you’ll begin to notice how food makes you feel. It’ll eventually become a choice and not something you “have to do”.
Before something becomes a routine, it has to become a habit. For something to become a habit, it has to be a continued effort.
If you want to start walking your dogs daily, put their leashes on the counter where you’ll see them.
If you want to start drinking more water, put an empty glass next to your tooth brush - fill it up after you brush your teeth.
If you want to start doing xyz, pair that task with something you’re already doing. You’ll be 100x more likely to follow it through.
Start simple, start somewhere - you got this💪

Can you get a six-pack from running?
There’s two reasons why some people have a six pack.
1.) body fat percentage
2.) genetics
Running or cardio for that matter is important for heart health. It doesn’t promote a leaner physique more than any other form of exercise.
However, it’s true - abs are made in the kitchen.
Nutrition matters - no matter what your goal is. Healthy nutrition is important for everyone.
Some people are genetically gifted that even at a higher body fat percentage because of their genetics will have a more defined core. On the opposite end, some people may have a smaller body fat percentage but might not have visible abs or as pronounced as they’d like.
Similarly to why some people have bigger butts than others or smaller thighs, etc. and others have to work harder if that is their goal.
If that’s your goal, great. If that’s not your goal, also great.
Just know, running and cardio in general is for heart health. More often than not, when focusing on becoming more athletic like lifting a certain amount of weight, running a distance for time, doing x amount of push ups tend to make the process of losing weight or looking a certain way a whole lot more fun and creates a healthy relationship with food & exercise which is the most important if you ask us!
