: Remember our post about Manabu Kurita, the angler who tied George Perry’s record bass? This is Robert Crupi. A man who most people have never heard of but is considered by many to be the best Largemouth Angler of all time. Bob caught 3 world record setting largemouths in only a 1 year span starting in March of 1990, 1 of which was only a few ounces shy of George Perry’s world record catch. He has caught and officially recorded over 150 10+ lbs bass in his life. Talk about obsessed! Has anyone ever seen the coveted “Bodacious Bass” how-to instructional tape made by Bob? If you know where to get a copy let us know!

The water is still cold but doesn’t stop us from trying! Threw this little crank around with no luck today. Still chasing the first bite of the year here in Iowa.

: In 1932 George Perry caught the world record Largemouth Bass while taking a break from working on the farm. The record of 22 lbs 4 Oz was held for 88 years! Until in 2009 Manabu Kurita tied* that record with a 22 lbs 5 Oz Bass (pictured above)

*IGFA rules require a fish to be 2 Oz larger to take a record

Spent some time on the water this weekend throwing everything we could think of. No luck yet! Anyone have any luck so far?

After seeing these monsters I had to grab the new 14lb starter kit! Can’t wait to get my new swim baits. Looking outside I’d say we will be hammering the Largies this weekend! Hope you all can join me! 🎣 🐟 ☀️

Got some dangles in for the first time this year, it was great being back at it. Threw some crank baits and a couple swim baits. No luck yesterday but lots of time to change that! 🎣 🐠

Watching the MLF championship round today sure does make us want to get some dangles in!
