Our program's mission is to make the southside proud both on and off the track. Below is an excellent example of how over half of our team strives to make our school and community proud.

Our team GPA is the highest it has been in the McClelland era (since 2006)!

We are entering the final hours of our 2025 Team Fundraiser. We are less than $500 away from our team goal for the season. Help us close out strong as we hope of achieving our goal of beating last year’s fundraiser total!

Proceeds will go toward team nutrition, track spikes, additional uniforms, and training equipment!

Des Moines Lincoln Boys Track will be hosting our annual 30 Pop! Fundraiser. Student athletes will be sending out emails and text messages via the 30 Pop app to supporters in hopes to meet our fundraising goal for the year. Our projected funds will go toward sleds, resistance bands, additional uniforms, and nutritional needs.

We’ve got some new assistants joining us this spring and we wanted to give you a chance to get to know them before we kick off the season next month!

Please welcome Matt Carlson to the staff. Matt brings both head coaching experience as well as a track record of success both on the track and the gridiron. Matt has served in various positions across the metro and we are excited to have him back to help break in our new facilities this spring.

We are hiring for the 2025 season. The assistant coach will lead our distance crew and coach athletes in the 800, 1600, and 3200. This is a paid stipend position.

Come join us as we open up our brand new track & field facilities this spring! The Rails will have a brand new 8 lane track for you to help us break in.

We are hiring assistant coaches for the 2025 season! Current needs are a distance coach & a sprints/jumps coach. Boys & Girls Cross Country Head Coach positions are also vacant. Lincoln also has teaching openings in science and ELL.

Over the last 10 years, Des Moines Lincoln has:
• a Top 10 finish at the state meet
• a two conference championships
• won the city meet 3 times, including in 2024.
• had medalists at the state meet in five events.
• improved in 18 of 19 events from the 2023 season to the 2024 season.
• Sent athletes to compete in track and field at Iowa, Iowa State, Wartburg, Simpson, Grand View, St. Ambrose, Waldorf, Iowa Central, Indian Hills, and DMACC.
