🔥 LAST-MINUTE WRESTLING CAMP — OCTOBER 24TH! 🔥

I will be holding a special one-day wrestling camp at the West Des Moines Valley High School wrestling room, featuring World Champion and Olympic Silver Medalist Dennis Hall!

This camp is open to all boys and girls in 1st–12th grade who have previous wrestling experience.

📅 CAMP SCHEDULE
8:30–9:00 AM: Sign-in
9:00 AM–12:00 PM: Dennis Hall
12:00–1:00 PM: Lunch (bring your own lunch)
1:00–3:00 PM: Pablo Ubasa

💰 COST: $75 PER WRESTLER

Tom and Terry Brands were known as brawlers, but make no mistake about it — they were GREAT technicians during their competitive days! 💪🏽🔥

Coach Gable used to break down these techniques for us in practice. I just loved watching Tom and Terry, whether it was in practice or competition.

Watch Terry in the 2000 U.S. Olympic Trials finals. I get goosebumps every time I watch this clip! It brings back so many great memories of those days in the Iowa room.

Toughness and technique go hand in hand! Study the greats, learn the details, and understand why they were so successful. There is a reason they became champions!

Matt McDonough was one of my pride and joys of coaching. I’ve had many over the years, and I’m still counting. 🤙🏽

Matt wasn’t always the most talented wrestler in the room, but he was a hard worker. When he was younger, I actually had to take him out of practice a few times because he struggled with his attention span at that age. But he grew out of it—and what happened after that is history.

Matt and I did a lot together through the club. I’m extremely proud of the wrestler, man, and person he became.

I want to personally THANK Matt and his parents, Mike & Sandi, for believing in me and trusting me enough to take Matt under my wing. That trust means a lot to me.

Look at Matt today—a great son, husband, dad, and role model. That’s what coaching is really about. It’s not just about wins and losses. It’s about helping young people become great men and women away from the wrestling mat.
