The Ohio State University and the UFC Performance Institute are conducting a research study to better understand the risks and recovery related to dehydration.
As a participant, you will:
• Share insights about your training experience, personal and medical history.
• Complete short daily surveys starting 7 days before your weigh-in.
• Participate in at least two in-person assessments at the TBA Classic venue (weigh-in and pre-fight, 5 minutes each). If you have multiple fights, you may participate in as many assessments as you have weigh-ins and fights. Each assessment consists of providing a urine sample, weighing yourself in your Thai shorts, and answering a short survey.
• Complete short daily surveys for 7 days after your fight, followed by weekly, then monthly surveys until you have returned to your normal training routine.
The study is limited to fighters over 18 years and registered to fight in the TBA Classic in a category that allows strikes to the head.
