The Dance Place provides intellectually stimulating, physically challenging, age appropriate, technical dance training in a creative environment.
We emphasize the development of the students’ sense of compassion and community minded behaviors as well as providing opportunities for them to develop a choreographic voice with dramatic context. Your student may have the opportunity to dance for special events here at The Dance Place. Students may have the opportunity to perform at:

Auditions for Dracula will be held at the same time as auditions for Snow White on
June 19, 2021
at the Pioneer Columbus Community Center at 2100 SE 5th St., Des Moines, IA 50315 at the following times:
12:00n-1:00pm – Girls and Boys in non-pointe roles Ages 12- Adult
12:00n-1:30pm – Girls on Pointe Ages 12- Adult (does not guarantee a pointe part)
1:30pm-2:15pm – Boys ALL AGES
1:30pm-2:30pm – Girls and Boys Ages 8-12 (no pointe roles for this age group)
Please pre-register for the audition by logging in to your NEON account – click here: NEON. (Here is the link to the online guide to filling out your audition event registration: NEON Guide to Audition Event Registration. ) If you don’t have a NEON account yet, send an email to [email protected]. There will also be forms on site if you can't pre-register for any reason.
Costs:
Audition fee: $17.00 per dancer with online or in person audition registration
Performance fee: $37.00 per dancer or $74.00 per family
Membership: a minimum Performer Membership of $40.00 will be expected, but memberships at higher levels are encouraged.
A second audition will be held in August. Performance date will be in October and will be announced later.
