The Hawk Nest

Big news from The Hawk Nest.

After an incredible run, we’ve officially closed on the sale of the building to the City of Urbandale.

What started as an idea — preserving a piece of Hawkeye history and creating a place where young people and college and professional athletes could train, compete, and grow — turned into something really special. From youth tournaments to team practices to countless hours on the historic Carver floor, the Hawk Nest has been about opportunity, community, and investing in the next generation.

We’re deeply grateful to every club, coach, athlete, and family who walked through those doors. You made it what it was.

We’re excited that the City of Urbandale will carry this forward and keep the gym active for years to come. That was always the goal — build something meaningful and leave it better than we found it. I think and hope we did that. And thank you for all for coming along this journey with us.

Beginning March 1, 2026, the City of Urbandale will manage all gym reservations and bookings.
