Des Plaines River Racers

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Coach Terry Majewski. He passed away on Sunday morning, November 23, 2025. Terry's family wants to thank everyone for their friendship and prayers. Please keep friends and family in your thoughts and prayers.

UPDATE: Nov 25:
For those wishing to attend and pay their respects, Terry will be interred at St Adalbert Cemetery this Saturday, November 29 at 9am. Address is 6800 N Milwaukee Avenue, Niles IL 60714. He will be buried atop his father, Thaddeus Majewski; the grave site is Grave 12, Lot 25, Section 27. Following burial, there will be a short prayer service; no celebration of life will be held afterwards at that time.

Members of the Des Plaines Warriors and the Des Plaines River Rivers will be planning a celebration of Terry's life, inviting families of the numerous teams he has coached in Des Plaines, Park Ridge, Niles, Norridge, and more. Please stay tuned for further details when this is finalized.

It was great to see all the swimmers and parents and friends of swimmers and coaches and families in our first Holly Jolly Reunion! Amazing how close but far seven years seems - it’s like we never stopped! Happy holidays to everyone - we will do it again!

Can’t wait to see everyone tonight at our Holly Jolly Reunion! Fun beings tonight at 6:30pm.

We've had a lot of people trying to be nostalgic and we've had some great memories tucked away on this page. We're back to share those memories and allow our friends to come back and reconnect! It's a shame to hide this, so let's celebrate this!

Michelle K is representing River Racers awesomely at Illinois Swimming Age Group State Champs! On Friday she finished 5th in the 200-back at 2:11.96; 7th in the 200-free sub 2- minutes! For Saturday so far, she swam the 100 back in 1:00.50, coming back seeded 4th for finals tonight. She also swam the 100-free in 54.89, also seeded 4th tonight. Good luck, Michelle.
