Hi Rainbowlers,
November 22nd bowling is ‘Wicked’ night. The theme is ‘Wicked’ or anything to do with the ‘Land of Oz’. Wear your Pink or Green. And bring your wickedly good appetizers and desserts.
And we are doing something ‘For Good’. We are collecting non-perishable food and personal care products to be donated to low income people living with HIV/AIDS. I just found out that Heartland Alliance Health (the group that promoted Harvest for Hope every November) has closed its food pantries early this year. It looks like this includes Vital Bridges which specifically helped the LGBTQ community. As of now, Groceryland has survived the closure of Heartland, so after I approve this with the board, we will donate to them. Groceryland was started by Lori Cannon, who recently passed away. If you don’t know who she is, please read the article I linked below. She was helping people living with HIV/AIDS since 1988. An absolute hero in the Chicago LGBTQ community.

October 2025 Standings
10/21/2025
October 25th bowling is First Responder Halloween. Bring a treat that helps you survive when you require a snack.
As you may know, FEMA, which was established by Jimmy Carter in 1978, has been disassembled by the current administration. With the dismantling of FEMA, more pressure has been placed on the Red Cross to aid first responders, victims & communities during their time of need.
This Saturday we will be collecting cash, checks & Zelle donations for the Red Cross
For every donation, minimum $3.00, you're welcome to a pair of Red Cross shoe strings or a clip. (see comments)
See Darrell to donate when you arrive before the shoe strings are gone.
Also, 50% of the 50/50 pot will be donated to the Red Cross if it is not won with a natural strike.
FYI, You may be required to have made a donation to get one of Bruce's double chocolate, chocolate chip cookies. They're worth a BIG donation!
