DeSoto BMX welcomes riders of all skill levels, from first-time riders to experienced racers. Whether you are brand new, working on the basics, or getting ready for the next race, come out and ride with us.

One day memberships are free. Don’t have a bike? We have free loaners. Don’t have a helmet? We have free loaners. A long sleeve shirt and pants are all you need.

Reminders:
✅ All riders must check in at the shack before getting on the track.

✅ All riders must have their knees and elbows covered by either pants and long sleeves OR knee and elbow pads.

DeSoto BMX Update

Metroplex BMX Group extends its sincere thanks to Bobby and Crystal Gonzales for the time, energy, and commitment they gave to DeSoto BMX. Bobby has submitted his resignation from his role as Track Operator, and we wish Bobby and Crystal the very best moving forward.

During their involvement, Bobby and Crystal helped bring new riders and families into the program and supported DeSoto BMX’s visibility within the region. Their efforts are appreciated.

Changes in leadership are part of any organization. Metroplex BMX Group is structured to continue serving riders and families through those changes. The Board’s role is to provide steady oversight, maintain stability, and make sure DeSoto BMX continues operating in a responsible and consistent way.

As part of that planning, the Board has continuity procedures for Track Operator transitions. This includes having a Board representative who is familiar with basic track operations before a transition occurs. Board member JW Irvin serves in that role and is prepared to support these efforts during this transition. JW, together with our volunteers, will help ensure racing, practice, and track operations continue as usual.

DeSoto BMX has a proud history, a strong foundation, and an important place in BMX racing across DFW, Texas, and the nation. As we continue forward, Metroplex BMX Group is committed to welcoming and supporting new riders, long standing families, volunteers, supporters, and all racers from across the region.

DeSoto BMX remains open, active, and ready to race. Metroplex BMX Group will issue a formal announcement regarding the next Track Operator position in the coming days.

We appreciate everyone’s continued support and look forward to seeing everyone at the track.

Another huge thank you to all the families, racers, and volunteers who made this weekend’s State Qualifier such a great event. We appreciate everyone who showed up, helped out, raced hard, and supported DeSoto BMX.

Thank you to everyone who came out and joined us for the Desoto BMX 2026 State Qualifier weekend! We had an incredible time hosting riders from across the state and watching some truly top notch racing on our track. The talent, sportsmanship, and excitement made for a memorable weekend.


A special congratulations to Mr. Don Somers, recipient of the 2026 Ryan Sheehan Award. This recognition is SO well deserved! We are grateful for Mr. Don being a staple on the hill, at Desoto BMX.


We also want to extend our deepest thanks to our amazing volunteers. Events like this do not happen without the countless hours spent preparing the facility, working behind the scenes, and keeping everything running smoothly throughout the weekend. Your willingness to serve the BMX community are what make Desoto BMX such a special place.


I will try to list names and I truly hope I don’t leave anyone out!
