ST. CLAIR COUNTY OPEN

The Flight Xperts were back in action at the St. Clair County Open in Columbus, Michigan, taking on a layout that rewarded aggressive scoring opportunities while heavily punishing mistakes on several key separator holes.

Matthew Stambaugh delivered one of the biggest moves of the tournament, climbing three spots during Round 2 and firing a 900-rated round to finish T14. The improvement from Round 1 to Round 2 showed exactly the type of progression we love to see from our team.

Jeremy Garvey battled through one of the tougher layouts the team has faced this season. While the final result wasn’t what they were hoping for, events like this provide valuable tournament experience and create a clear roadmap for future improvement.

Congratulations to MA3 Champion Kaden Vaughn on an impressive victory. ANN, Flight Xperts, and Garvey Rd. Flight Shop have no affiliation with Kaden, but we want to recognize a strong performance and a well-earned win.

A special thank you goes out to Team Stony, tournament staff, volunteers, competitors, and everyone who helped make the St. Clair County Open possible.

DGPT Pro Tour Recap

The Disc Golf Pro Tour headed to Shelton Springs in Washington for one of the toughest wooded tests on Tour, and the weekend delivered everything from dominant performances to one of the biggest highlights of the season.

🥇 Gannon Buhr captured the MPO title at -25, closing with a final-round 54 (-10) to hold off a stacked leaderboard where five players finished within three strokes of the lead.

🥇 Silva Saarinen put on a clinic in FPO, winning by six strokes at -25 while leading or sharing the hot round in all three rounds.

🚀 Moment of the Tournament:
Noah Meintsma’s 315-foot ace on Hole 7.

📊 Standout Performances:
• Andrew Marwede posted 100% C1 and 100% C1X putting.
• Luke Taylor led MPO in tee-to-green scoring opportunity generation.
• Eagle McMahon continued trending upward with another podium finish.

🎙️ Max’s Take:
“The course definitely suited Marwede with how forehand dominant a lot of the holes were for MPO. Biggest surprise honestly was Noah Meintsma and as far as big names, Eagle playing well. Eagle still had some stuff to clean up but otherwise played a pretty good set of rounds. FPO it was just the Silva show on full display.”

One of the most memorable moments of his journey came at Firefighters Park when he recorded his first ace during league play on Hole 15, a moment every disc golfer dreams about and never forgets.
