DePorres Family! Last year we had a very successful Alumni Weekend with the "White Party" & the cookout. Traditionally, we (Wendy Citee, myself and others) have committed to planning these events every 2 years (it's a lot of work!!!). But after last year all we heard was "That was great, do it again next year!" and "Dave, y'all gotta do SOMETHING for the class of 1968's 50th year..." and against my better judgement, I agreed to do something (cookout on Belle Isle) and Wendy did the same with a spot at PAL HQ for the "Black Party"...these events take more than a year to plan & prepare for. They also take financial resources & commitments from a host of people...so I say ALL that to say, at present we have 9 (NINE) Alum who have paid in advance for the dinner portion of the Black Party! I know folk like to pay at the door but IF we don't get this number up over the next week or so, we will be forced to cancel the commemorative dinner portion of the event. This saddens me because without putting people on blast, I know there were at least 2 dozen people who said "when, where & I'm there!" yet we only have 9 (nine)? Wendy works her ass off putting this thing together from CHICAGO!!! While I put in my share for the cookout while working 2 jobs & raising a family. Come on Eagles! We can do better than this. IF we don't want to do this...please let us know now so Wendy & I can turn our focus elsewhere.
