Scottie Pippen spent the night jawing with the refs, barking for a three-second call, and after a second tech from Joe Crawford, he completely snapped. Ejected late in the first half, Pippen stormed toward the Bulls’ bench, grabbed a chair, lifted it over his head, and hurled it across the United Center floor before leaving the arena entirely. A suspension and fine felt inevitable as Chicago lost its composure along with its star.
Meanwhile, The Admiral stayed locked in. With Pippen gone, David Robinson took over—knocking down two clutch free throws with 0.6 seconds left to force overtime, then scoring 9 of the Spurs’ 11 OT points. Robinson finished with 30 points, capped by the game-winner after stealing the inbounds pass, sealing a 104–102 Spurs victory. One of the NBA’s most infamous ejections… and one of David Robinson’s coldest takeovers.
