What a great two days at the Junior Championship hosted by Bayview Yacht Club! ⛵️💙 So proud of every sailor who competed this week. The conditions weren’t easy, but everyone kept fighting, learning, and giving their best until the very last race. That’s what sailing is all about. A huge thank you to all the coaches, volunteers, race committee, parents, and everyone who made this event possible. It was an amazing regatta, and I’m so happy to have been part of it. The BYC Junior Regatta begins tomorrow at Bayview Yacht Club, where we’ll welcome more than 120 junior sailors for two days of racing on the Detroit River!

Come down to the front lawn, watch the action on the water, and cheer on the next generation of sailors. Our Team Bayview athletes have been training hard all summer, and they’re ready to compete!

Today I had a dive to find this engine cowling at Bayview Yacht Club for their Junior Sailors program. It blew off one of their motorboats on one of the very windy days we’ve had, and fortunately it didn’t go far. The kids were just finishing up for the day, it looks like a fun program!

⛵ Junior Sailing is officially underway at Bayview!

We started the morning with donuts and bagels, followed by the national anthem, and wrapped up with a team photo at the BYC anchor.

Cooler temps today, but we were treated to sunny skies and a steady breeze—perfect conditions to kick off the first day on the water. Sailors got right into it, shaking off the rust and starting the season strong.

Excited for what’s ahead over the next 8 weeks!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Parent Orientation Night!

It was great to see so many new and returning families and to have all of our coaches on hand to meet everyone. The excitement for the upcoming season is definitely building.

With less than one week until sailing begins, our coaches report tomorrow to kick off setup week and will be hard at work preparing the boats, facilities, and program for a fantastic summer.

We can’t wait to see everyone on the water! ⛵
