Defended my mile and 5K titles at the yesterday. It was a blast to step down in distance while in the middle of marathon training.

Capped the great weekend off with 20 solid miles on dirt roads this morning and it's fair to say I'm relaxing the rest of the weekend.

Thanks to and for this epic shot!

13th place at a warm and humid yesterday.

My race was on the lower end of expectations. But it has been extremely satisfying to see how much progress has been made in the first 6 weeks of this buildup alone.

What really made the weekend special though was spending time with old friends and meeting new ones on the circuit.

I'm full of confidence and excitement to see what the next 6 weeks of training brings.

I feel so fortunate I get to experience these race mornings again. Can't wait for the Twin Cities 10 mile next month!

Life has been a rollercoaster since then. Getting COVID and full body posion ivy have been major lows, but there are other truly amazing things coming together.

I'm struggling to jumpstart the body post-COVID, but I think back to a year ago today – I was on the bike hurt again and had fully accepted my PR days were over.

I also think about this moment. Not the time or the place – but the feeling of what it meant.

So much has changed in a year and so much more will change in the next.

For me, I've found the less traditional path is the best one forward, and I cannot wait to share some things I've been working on. ✌️

Had an absolute blast speaking with about upcoming marathon in Eugene this weekend.

Olivia gives some hot takes about Strava, chats about what it's like getting COVID 2 weeks before your goal race, and how we make sure running fits into her life

A hot 10K yesterday at the Crescent City Classic.

With temps being in the upper 70s and humidity near 100% I knew it would be a tough race coming from Michigan.

I was dropped early and struggled in the heat. But I stayed engaged enough to pass 4 runners the last 5K running 29:33 and finishing 6th in a competitive field.

A solid day given the heat but definitely better things to come.

Next up is the before heading to

I cried tears of joy across the finish line as my running career came full circle.

In Chicago 3.5 years ago I was in tears as well, but of disappointment with an injury that would eventually end my professional running career.

Today felt like a return at an almost identical finish line at the in 22:57 for 3rd place battling for the win with less than 100 meters left.

The road back has been far longer and darker than I could have ever imagined. So I cannot overstate what today means to me - it was one of those special days that I will always remember surrounded by friends and family.

It feels good to be back.

A year ago today I had my last run as a professional athlete...

I left without knowing what or where I was going to be next. I let go and let life take me.

A visit to turned me into a Lanstronaut (IYKYK), a few job applications turned into a great position, and a lack of focus on running turned into the next part of my competitive career.

While the memories of training with this group of forever friends I remember fondly. Taking a risk into the unknown and uncomfortable led to growth for my career, as a runner, and as a partner.

Getting to do what I love most.

Had what I would describe as an "Ok" race at the Naples 1/2 Marathon this past weekend finishing 4th in 67:15.

Michigan winter didn't quite prepare me for a very warm muggy day, but I came away with what I wanted to do - race my hardest.

I'm going to plenty of more "Ok" and even bad days ahead - and that's what makes this endeavor so much fun.

Grateful to be partnering with in 2022 as I chase after qualifying for my 4th Olympic trials.

It's fun to have the opportunity to work with a brand that I would have used regardless of the sponsorship.

First race in 2022 is lined up next weekend at the Naples Half Marathon.🌴

Y'all, last night feels like validation on why I haven't let the dream go.

I ran 18:38 for a 5th place finish at the Van Wert 4 Mile with my Playmakers Elite teammates.

Due to injury, the joy of toeing the line and pushing myself to the limit has been three years in the making.

I've been practicing living in the moment and not feeling burdened by my past fitness. I feel free as I explore this restart of my running career.

I'm honestly just having so much fun.*

Three years ago today I finished my last race healthy at the Utica Boilermaker. It was the fittest point of my running career.

A few months after this my running turned into periods of hit and miss training and runs as my foot hurt almost every step of the way.

Tonight though I get to line up 100% healthy once more in a competitive field at the Van Wert 4 Miler with Playmakers Elite

I'm not yet where I was three years ago. But honestly after three years, I'm having more fun than ever just seeing progress.

Tonight is just a step forward but it's one that's going to feel so damn good.
