Detroit Yoga Lab

Detroit Yoga Lab Detroit Yoga Lab was the first yoga studio to open in Detroit in 2012. We hope you'll come see for yourself. The room pulses and breathes.

Detroit Yoga Lab is a modern, minimalist sanctuary offering intentional yoga & pilates rooted in breath, meditation, and whole-body awareness—enhanced by the healing power of infrared heat. Since opening, we’ve been told in many different ways that Detroit Yoga Lab is the most welcoming, best designed and supercharged yoga studio in Detroit, and that there’s just no other place like it. Our students have also claimed that their experiences in being part of this amazing community have changed their lives, bodies and hearts for the better. We are so humbled by the inclusiveness, connectivity and determination that has sprouted in this space over the past three years and hope you will come join us. We offer more than 30 classes a week, from heated vinyasa to candle light yin, and everything in between. The air is sort of electric. And most importantly, there is a real feeling of community that pervades this studio and makes students want to return, because we see the beauty in everyone! Our teachers are friendly, accessible for questions and are consistently participating in ongoing education and training so they can in turn provide the most knowledgeable classes about how to move safe, build strength, increase flexibility and release stress through yoga. To us, yoga is a practice that helps us all be our best, not a practice to make us all look the same, so we hope you’ll come share you so we can help you be YOUR BEST!

WHAT IF YOUR ONLY JOB WAS TO LIE DOWN AND LISTEN?

Yoga Nidra—often called “yogic sleep” is a guided meditation typically practiced while
resting comfortably on your back.

You don’t need to hold a pose, control your thoughts, or concentrate perfectly. Rebecca’s
voice guides your attention through the body, breath, sensations, and inner awareness
while you rest.

During Yoga Nidra:
• Your body is supported and still
• Your attention is gently guided
• Thoughts are allowed to come and go
• There is nothing to accomplish
• Falling asleep is completely okay

The practice invites you into the space between waking and sleeping—a place where
effort softens and deep rest becomes possible.
The Space Between begins with gentle movement and breathwork before settling into
meditation and Yoga Nidra.

Friday, September 25
7–8:30 PM

Bring your mat, a favorite pillow or blanket, cozy layers, and an optional eye covering. No
prior experience is needed.
Come as you are. Lie down. Let yourself be guided.

Andrew and Olivia of Wild Heart Detroit are returning to Detroit Yoga Lab!

Their two previous retreats with our community were deeply loved, and we are so happy to welcome them back for another afternoon of practice, reflection, and connection.

RESET: These practices are rooted in the Buddhist teachings known as the Brahmavihāras, or the Four Qualities of the Heart: loving-kindness, compassion, appreciative joy, and equanimity.
Together, we will explore how these four qualities of the heart can help us remain open, grounded, and loving in a world that is always changing.

The afternoon will include:
Guided, seated, and walking meditation
Brief teachings
Shared silence
Community reflection and conversation
Time away from phones and the usual pace of daily life

No previous meditation experience is needed. Chairs, mats, and cushions will be provided.

Saturday, October 17
1:00–5:00 PM | Detroit Yoga Lab

YOUR BODY MAY NOTICE THE SEASON CHANGING BEFORE YOUR CALENDAR DOES.

The light shifts. The evenings cool. The energy that carried you through summer may no longer
feel like the energy you need now.
Transitions can be disorienting—even beautiful ones. We often rush into the next season
without giving ourselves time to acknowledge the one that’s ending.

The Space Between offers a moment to stop moving long enough to notice:

• What feels complete
• What still feels unfinished
• What you’re ready to release
• What you want to make room for next

Rebecca Murawski will guide you through gentle movement, breathwork, meditation, and Yoga
Nidra as you reconnect with your body and settle into deep rest.

Friday, September 25
7–8:30 PM

No previous experience is needed. Bring your mat, a pillow or blanket, and your coziest layers.

It’s here. Our fall schedule is live. 🍂

Every class was placed with intention — built around when our community shows up, so each room has its best chance to thrive. Some times moved. Some things are new. All of it was done with care.

Swipe to find your class — whatever heat you want, whatever your body’s asking for.

LET THE WORLD KEEP SPINNING WITHOUT YOU FOR 90 MINUTES.

You don’t need a plane ticket to get away.
Sometimes, the rest we need most is a temporary release from the noise-the decisions,
responsibilities, unfinished thoughts, and constant pressure to keep moving.
The Space Between is an invitation to put it all down for a while.

Rebecca Murawski will guide you through gentle movement, nourishing breathwork, meditation,
and deeply restorative Yoga Nidra-taking you from constant motion toward a quieter place inside
yourself.

This practice offers space to:
• Release stress, tension, and mental clutter
• Support your nervous system through breath & deep rest
• Reconnect with your body and inner awareness
• Restore a sense of balance
• Leave feeling grounded, renewed, and deeply nourished

Give yourself permission to pause.

True detachment does not require running away or refusing to care about the world. It means you can enjoy things, relationships, and success without becoming a slave to the fear of losing them.

As the seasons shift and fall approaches, we’re reminded to slow down, turn inward, and make space for what nourishes us🌙

So, we want to gift the practice of rejuvenation to our beautiful community. Because yoga is more than a practice— it’s a place to reconnect, breathe, and come home to yourself. We would love to share that feeling with you this fall.🍃
