We are so proud of Liz and Drip ☕️ This is The Strive Subjective💙

A packed room. A 9-year-old musician. A moment that mattered. 🤍

When we show up for our kids, we’re telling them their voice matters and their dreams are worth chasing.

It's Powerful.

Thank you for showing up. This is how confidence is built.

💙✨ It Starts With HER ✨💙

We are honored to highlight another inspiring woman in our community — Elizabeth Segura, the heart behind Drip Coffee, a brand rooted in intention, grace, and showing up for others with sincerity and strength.

🪩 Who is a (her)o in your life?
My inherited grandmother, Paz Perez, was my shero growing up. Though we weren’t biologically related, she loved me as if I were her own granddaughter. She gave me more love, respect, and dignity than I ever could have expected.

Some of my earliest memories are of us sitting with our coffee in the mornings, just being together. I learned so much from her—through her words, her presence, and the quiet lessons she taught simply by the way she lived.

She carried a gentle, quiet power that was deeply commanding. A softness paired with a strength I didn’t believe could coexist—until she showed me it could. She taught me how to take up space with grace, rooted in who I am, without needing attention or recognition.

She is one of the most impactful women I have ever known, and her lessons have carried me through my entire life.

🫶 How do you provide t(her)apy in the community?
I offer therapy to the community by doing what my grandmother taught me best: showing up with intention, being genuine, being consistent, being soft and gentle—but also standing firmly in my strength when needed.

I listen deeply, create space for every person I meet, and try to make each interaction meaningful, even if it’s only for a moment. Her example guides how I serve others and how I carry myself in every space I enter.

💭 What advice would you give to a young woman wanting to make a difference?
Start by showing up with intention. You don’t have to be the loudest to make an impact—consistency, authenticity, and compassion go a long way.

Lead with genuine care, listen deeply, and create space for others. Be soft when you can, strong when you need to be, and graceful always. Even the smallest moments matter.

If you stay rooted in who you are and move with purpose, you’ll make a difference wherever you go.

💙 If you could have a girls night with 3 women (dead or alive, famous or not), who would they be?

1. My grandmother, Maria Paz Pérez — Her quiet strength and unconditional love shaped every part of me. Time with her was grounding and inspiring, and I would cherish one more evening in her presence.
2. Madonna — For redefining what it means for a woman to own her identity. Her boldness, creativity, and refusal to shrink for anyone have opened doors for generations.
3. Michelle Obama — Her grace, leadership, and compassion are unmatched. She embodies strength without losing softness, and leads with intention—qualities I deeply admire.

🩵 Thank you, Elizabeth, for the way you serve, inspire, and uplift your community. Your work with Drip Coffee is an extension of the love, intention, and legacy passed down to you — and you are carrying it forward beautifully.

💙✨ It Starts With HER ✨💙

We are honored to highlight another inspiring woman in our community — Yessenia Maldonado, a Dual Language Kindergarten Teacher dedicated to shaping confident, capable, and compassionate young minds.

🪩 Who is a (her)o in your life?
My mother is the strongest woman I know. Life has been full of ups and downs for her, and she has never given up. She’s one of the most hardworking individuals and always reaches every goal she sets for herself.

🫶 How do you provide t(her)apy in the community?
My goal as a teacher is to help students become the best versions of themselves. I want to be the one cheering them on every step of the way. I want my students to know they are capable of anything — and I’ll always be there to help in any way I can.

💭 What advice would you give to a young woman wanting to make a difference?
Believe you can and you will. There is nothing wrong with asking for help and guidance. No matter what comes your way, there’s always a way through it all.

💙 If you could have a girls night with 3 women (dead or alive, famous or not), who would they be?
I would love to have a night out with my grandma. I want to know all the family chisme — especially my moms — and I know we’d share a love for collecting toys and trinkets. I’d share this night with my mom and daughter too.

🩵 Thank you, Yessenia, for all that you do to empower, educate, and inspire! You truly embody what it means to pour love into the next generation.

💜 Yessenia is also a proud Strive Dance Company dance mom to a dancer I have worked with for many years and love very much, Angelica Esparza. I have loved getting a chance to know and work with this family on a personal level and love them very much 💜

We are thrilled to continue our feature series: It Starts With HER🪩✨

These stories highlight incredible women and women-owned businesses creating safe, empowering spaces for others to grow, heal, and lead. Together, we’re building a future where everyone feels safe, seen, and celebrated. We are t(her)apy.

Next up, meet our newest feature — Rebecca (Bek) Huston💙 Founder and Artist of Heathen Ink Tattoos 🎨

👇 Here’s a glimpse into Bek’s Q&A 💙

1️⃣ Who is a (her)o in your life?
Samantha Brennaman — she’s an incredible multi-discipline artist who never, ever stops learning.

2️⃣ How do you or your business provide t(her)apy in the community?
I’m dedicated to being a safe place for people’s stories, which are often reflected in the art they choose for their skin. I also help people improve their relationships with their bodies by adding art that changes their viewpoint — covering scars or insecurities to create positive relationships instead of self-judgment.

3️⃣ What advice would you give to a young woman wanting to make a difference?
Don’t give up and never stop learning.

4️⃣ If you could have a girls night out with 3 women (dead or alive), who would they be?
Georgia O’Keeffe, Naomi Novik, and Seanan McGuire.

💙 Final thoughts from Bek:
“I love women supporting each other. When we compete with each other, we’re playing someone else’s game by someone else’s rules. When we support each other — we create our own.”

We can’t wait to share the rest of these stories over the coming months — because it all starts with HER!

We are thrilled to introduce our new feature series: It Starts With HER🪩✨

These stories highlight incredible women and women-owned businesses creating safe, empowering spaces for others to grow, heal, and lead. Together, we’re building a future where everyone feels safe, seen, and celebrated. We are t(her)apy.

To kick off this inspiring series, meet our very first feature — Victoria Peralta💙 Founder of Strive Dance Company and The Strive Subjective!

👇 Here’s a glimpse into Victoria’s Q&A 💙

1️⃣ Who is a (her)o in your life?
My daughter is my biggest inspiration. She gave me the strength to break cycles, grow into the woman I am today, and create a better path for both of us.

2️⃣ How do you or your business provide t(her)pay in the community?
Through dance and mindset training, I help shape the next generation — building confidence, resilience, and leadership in kids who will one day lead with heart and strength.

3️⃣ What advice would you give to a young woman wanting to make a difference?
Start with yourself. Heal, grow, and lead by example — your strength will inspire others to rise, too.

4️⃣ If you could have a girls night out with 3 women (dead or alive), who would they be?
I’d choose my guardian angels — especially my grandmother Rose. I feel their presence every day and often dream of them visiting. I’d give anything for one hug and one conversation to thank them for guiding me. Their signs are everywhere.

We can’t wait to share the rest of these 10 stories over the coming months — because it all starts with HER!

I’m incredibly thankful to have met Lauren from On Pointe Arts in North Canton, Ohio during the National Dance Education Organization conference in Detroit! 🌟 Lauren attended my session and afterward, we connected over our shared passion for intentional, mission-driven dance education.

What started as a conversation quickly turned into something even more meaningful—we decided to collaborate on an interview for a project she’s working on as part of her class focused on building a mission-based dance studio. I’m so honored that she saw value in what we’re doing at Strive Dance Company, and that the program I created,The Strive Subjective, resonated with her as a worthy example to dive deeper into.

To know that the work we’ve built can inspire and support other studio owners is incredibly humbling. I’m excited to continue this connection and support Lauren on her journey—this is what community in dance education is all about 💫

Thank you National Dance Education Organization - NDEO for creating connections like this!
