Detroit Barre

Our mission at Detroit Barre is to offer the opportunity for every person to improve their fitness: without judgment, without feeling out of place, and without compromising the incredible challenge of barre technique itself. We believe that amazing transformations happen when you take away the barriers that keep many people from finding movement that truly benefits their health and their lives.

The world needs more spaces like the one we have created, as a community, at Detroit Barre. This makes it all that much more difficult to announce that we will be closing the doors at our current location. Our final day of classes will be May 11, 2024. 

There are a number of factors that contribute to this decision, which has been just as emotional as it must be practical. The reality is that the studio, as it exists currently, cannot sustain operations nor achieve the growth and engagement necessary to overcome the economic factors we face.

There is not yet a clear picture of what the future of Detroit Barre looks like. Our intention is to maintain a virtual presence as well as find opportunities for “pop-up” classes in different locations, and eventually find a new space to return to and continue to deliver on our mission.

While the business is undergoing changes, we will never lose sight of the values that guide every aspect of Detroit Barre.

Update ⬆️

Due to a major facility issue at the studio, we unfortunately must suspend in-studio classes until further notice.

At this time, we are still investigating options for remediating the issue, and cannot estimate a completion date. We will keep everyone posted with updates.

All clients with active memberships or class packages will be provided access to our library of on-demand classes. We appreciate your patience as we provision access individually for each client.
