Meet a Legend of Strongman

We’re excited to host “An Evening With” 4x World’s Strongest Man, Magnús Ver Magnússon, March 20th at 7pm, the night before Motown’s Strongest!

Magnús is one of the most respected figures in strength sports, winning the World’s Strongest Man title four times and spending decades as an athlete, judge, promoter, and coach in the sport.

Join us for an evening of stories, strongman knowledge, Q&A, photos, and a chance to learn from one of the all-time greats before he takes the judge’s seat at Motown’s Strongest the following day.

Motown's Strongest athletes, volunteers, and PGSK members receive $10 off their ticket, DM for your discount code.

Don’t miss this rare opportunity to spend time with a legend of the sport and kick off an incredible strongman weekend.

Tickets available for purchase on Iron Podium or from Motown promoters Jen and Skip at the next couple of strongman Saturdays.

Strongman Saturdays are in full effect for III💪
If you’ve never trained in a small group atmosphere, you’re missing out on serious gains.

“It takes a village” isn’t just a saying — top-level athletes didn’t get strong by always being the strongest person in the room. They got pushed. Challenged. Supported.

Come test yourself, hype up your training partners, and see what Strongman Saturday is really about.
No ego. All grit.
Strongman is for everyone.

Strength Day at PGSK

Here’s today’s training lineup for our strength crew:

• Seated “Box” Jumps – 3x3
Focused on power and clean takeoffs. “Box” is in quotes because we often use a crash pad or even a simple vertical jump; scale to your ability.

• Kettlebell Swings – 3x10 (ascending weight)
Building a strong, consistent hinge pattern.

• Conventional Deadlifts – 4 sets, 2:00 rest
Set 1: Work up to 5 reps at RPE 8
Working sets stay at that weight:
– Set 2: 2 RIR
– Set 3: 2 RIR
– Set 4: 1 RIR
Simple, effective progression with room to grow.

• DB Overhead Press superset with Cable Rows – 3x8

At PGSK, we keep strength days structured, intentional, and easy to follow so people can come in, get quality work done, and leave feeling stronger than they came in.

If you’re looking for a place that programs with purpose, this is what we do every day.

Conditioning Workout of the Week.

Today’s main conditioning piece is all about effort, pacing, and staying consistent when it starts to burn.

60–120 calories on the Air Bike
3:00 work / 1:30 rest

At the start of each work round:
12 bodyweight squats
6 push-ups

Then, use the rest of your work time to chip away at those calories.

You’ve got up to 5 rounds to finish, but aim to wrap it up before that final round. It’s not about going all-out from the start….it’s about finding a steady rhythm, holding it, and finishing strong.

No matter your goal number, show up, give your best effort, and push a little further than you thought you could. That’s where the real progress happens.

Shoulder + Core Circuit to Start the Week Strong

Today’s workout hit everything — power, control, and consistency.

5 Rounds:
• Rotational Wall Slams – 5/side
• Overhead Press – 8
• Upright Rows – 10
• Chest Pass – 8
• Heel Touches – 20/side
(3 minutes rest between rounds)

This one was all about intention. Moving with purpose, keeping control through every rep, and finding that steady rhythm that makes you stronger each round.

You don’t have to crush every workout — you just have to show up and keep showing up. That’s where the progress happens.
