Our program recently received a couple of donations...

Aspire Services, Inc. donated $670 from a fundraising event they held last month at the VFW Club.

Devils Lake Cars donated $675 as part of their year end giving campaign.

All of our athletes did an amazing job yesterday! They each gave it their all everytime they were on the court and always displayed great sportsmanship as well.

Although the tournament was different than past years, we all still made the most of it and had a fun and memorable day.

Huge thank you to all the friends, family, and staff that showed up to cheer our athletes on! Each year I feel Devils Lake has the largest and loudest group of fans at the tournament and I know our athletes can feel that as well.

That’s a wrap for our sports seasons now until July. Hope to see all of our athletes back again next season!

Our Bears team were crowned division 2 champions in today’s tournament! They got redemption by defeating a team from Bismarck that knocked them out in the semifinals last year. Billy Buckles received an all-tournament award.

Our Cubs team finished runner up in the youth division for the third straight season. We had a rematch of last year’s championship game and this time came up just short in a great game. Ally Charette received an all-tournament award.

Both teams won their opening games and will be playing in their championship games this afternoon

This Saturday will be the state basketball tournament in Minot. A bus will be leaving from the NDSD gym parking lot at 6am. We should return around 7pm and pickup will be in the same location.

The Bears adult team and the Cubs youth team will both be participating. The opening ceremony will be held at Ramstad Middle School at 9:00am. The Cubs will play their tournament at Ramstad while the Bears will play theirs at Central Middle School.

Lunch will be provided along with supper for the ride home for all athletes. There will be no concessions or souvenir sales at the tournament this year.

Please notify your coaches tomorrow at the final practice if you are not able to attend this weekend or if you are riding with family to the tournament.

Practices for this evening (Tuesday) are cancelled due to no coaches being able to attend. We will hold our last practice of the season on Tuesday, December 2nd at Minnie H with the youth team at 3:45 and the adult teams at 4:30.

Our two adult teams, the Bears and the Grizzlies, were in action in the regional tournament in Jamestown today. It was a great day for some basketball! All three of our teams will compete at state in Minot on December 6.

There will be no youth division at the regional tournament. The youth team will only play at state in Minot on December 6th.

The two adult teams will play at the regional tournament, but the date is incorrect on the schedule. The regional tournament in Jamestown will be on November 22nd. Schedule will be handed out when the tournament brackets are received.

DL Special Olympics has a set of jerseys to give away to anyone interested. 28 reversible mesh basketball jerseys and mesh shorts in a variety of sizes from youth to adult. Jerseys are blue/white in color with Devils Lake printed on the front. They would be good for youth traveling teams or adult rec leagues. We also have a bunch of mesh practice pinnies in a variety of colors. Please reach out if you are interested.
