What a weekend.

It’s hard to put into words what this community accomplished over the last two days. We welcomed hundreds of athletes, cheered on first timers and seasoned competitors alike, watched kids cross finish lines with huge smiles, and saw adults accomplish goals they have spent months working toward. Every single one of those moments happened because so many people came together with one common purpose.

To every participant, thank you for choosing to spend your weekend with us. Whether you stood on a starting line for the very first time or you’ve raced countless triathlons, you made this event what it was. We hope you leave DeWitt with great memories and a reason to come back.

To our volunteers, thank you will never seem like enough. You gave your time, your energy, your patience, and your enthusiasm. You were setting up before sunrise, directing athletes, handing out water, encouraging racers, cleaning up long after the finish line closed, and doing a hundred little things that most people never see. This event simply does not happen without you.

To our sponsors, community partners, and the many organizations that stepped in to help, thank you for believing in this event and in our community. We are especially grateful to our law enforcement, fire department, EMS, lifeguards, parks staff, secondary roads crews, school district, city crews, conservation staff and everyone else who helped keep our athletes safe and our event running smoothly. Your professionalism allowed us to focus on creating a great experience for everyone involved.

This weekend was about far more than swimming, biking, and running. It was about community. It was about encouraging one another, celebrating personal victories, and proving what can happen when people are willing to serve something bigger than themselves.

Thank you DeWitt, for showing exactly what kind of community you are.

We’ll spend the next few days catching our breath, but we’re already looking forward to doing it all again next year.
