Dexter High School Equestrian Team

On Sunday June 2nd, Dexter participated in its first Junior team meet in several years. Our riders took home Reserve Champion in the B division for our district. We can’t wait to see these young riders evolve and move on to our high school team! Please reach out with interest in our high school or junior divisions. Go Dreads!

On January 17th we celebrated our 2023 riders! Awards were given as follows,
Kera Root: High Point Rider
Blaze Peale: Coach's Award
Abby Franz: Sportsmanship Award

That brings the equestrian team season to a close. Dexter put up a good fight for reserve champs to get a slot at regionals, but fell short in third. Great effort from both riders, parents, and coaches! Everyone had personal bests and both riders achieved their Varsity Letters: congrats!!! We will continue to practice and grow and be ready for next year. Go Dreads!!!!

Meet 2 was a success! Dexter placed third in the D division with only 2 points behind second. Congratulations to Kera Root (freshman) for earning her varsity letter and being high point rider: placing 2nd equitation over fences, 5th in hunt seat showmanship, and 4th in barrels. Nigel Makin (junior) and Kera Root placed 2nd in two-man relay. What a fun weekend, we can’t wait for meet 3!
