Hello RDK Families!
It is a big week — the tournament is THIS Sunday and we have two more incredible events right around the corner. Let's get into it!
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
🏆 RDK FALL CLASSIC – THIS SUNDAY, October 25th | Upland High School
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
This is it — the RDK Fall Classic is five days away and classes this week are fully focused on tournament practice. Come to class in your full uniform and bring your tournament weapons so we can get the best possible picture of your performance before Sunday. Let's walk in looking and feeling completely ready!
If you have not registered yet, please do so NOW — time is running out!

This is also an important reminder: competition is a requirement for students who have progressed past Yellow Belt. If you have not competed in a tournament this year, this Sunday is your last chance to fulfill that requirement before December belt testing. We want to see everyone out there — every belt level is welcome, first-timers included. Competing builds confidence, resilience, and focus in a way that class alone simply cannot. If you have any questions about what divisions to enter or what to bring, come talk to any instructor after class this week!

🎃 TRUNK OR TREAT + SPOOKY GAMES – Saturday, October 31st | 12:00 – 2:00 PM
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Right after the tournament weekend we have our Halloween Trunk or Treat and Spooky Games here at the dojo! Costumes are encouraged and the whole family is welcome — siblings, parents, grandparents, everyone.
Two ways to help make it a great event:
• 🍬 Candy donations — please drop off at the front desk by Thursday, October 29. We are building candy bags for every trunk and every piece helps!
• 🚗 Host a trunk — want to decorate your car and hand out treats? Reach out to Sensei Alec or Mrs. Amanda to grab a spot. Go spooky, go silly, go all out — just keep it family-friendly!

📸 PICTURE DAY 2026 – Monday, November 2nd & Tuesday, November 3rd
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Picture Day is right around the corner! This is our chance to capture your student in action — kicks, weapons, and those proud belt-and-uniform portraits your family will treasure for years.
• Sign up online: Picture Day Signup Link or at the front desk
• What to wear: a clean, pressed uniform and current belt. Weapons students are welcome to bring their weapons for action shots!
Spots fill up, so please sign up early to get the time that works best for your family.
