✨What classes do you teach at BodyLift?

     Reformer Pilates

✨How long have you been teaching fitness?
      2 Years at Bodylift!

✨What made you want to become an instructor?

I started as a member and fell in LOVE with reformer pilates. I used to be a dancer and coach dance, and find there are so many similarities when it comes to pilates. Heather one day mentioned she was looking for more instructors and I jumped at the opportunity to teach others!

✨What’s your favorite type of workout?
I love any type of pilates and yoga!

✨What’s one exercise you LOVE?
Anything that has to do with your core!

✨What’s one exercise you could happily never do again?

Any exercise that starts before 8am. 😂

✨What’s your favorite workout song or artist?
EDM & A mix of the 70s/ 80s. My playlist sounds like a Jukebox. You never know what will play next!

✨What do you love most about the BodyLift community?

That fact that it truly is a community! You start attending classes with the goal of fitness in mind, but in the end you find a much deeper connection with those around you, which ultimately helps you reach your fitness goals mentally and physically.

✨What’s something members might be surprised to learn about you?

I never show up to class with a plan! I may know what I want to start with but I love modifying my classes to how my members are feeling that day or adjusting as we go along to make sure I am providing the best workout possible for y’all!

✨What would you tell someone who is nervous to try their first class at BodyLift?
Come try it out! There are so many classes to choose from that you are bound to find one you love!

Classes: Bootcamp — cardio + strength
Teaching: 3 years at BodyLift — started with 1 class/week and somehow Heather has me up to 3!

Why I teach: I already loved the BodyLift community, so when Heather asked me to take on a class, I said yes—and I’m so glad I did! It keeps me accountable and pushes me to be better.

Favorite workout: HIIT/Bootcamp — I love variety!
Exercise I ❤️: Cardio. Yes, I’m one of those people.

Exercise I could live without: Thrusters. I make you do them, but that doesn’t mean I like them either.

Workout music: A little bit of everything—different genres and decades depending on my mood!

What I love about BodyLift: We’re a family. ❤️ I’ve been part of BodyLift for about 10 years, and the encouragement, accountability, friendships, and support are what make this place special.

Something you might not know: I’m nicer than my face sometimes says. 😂 Also, I hate heights…but I’ve been skydiving and would probably do it again. Aerial ropes course? Absolutely not.

Nervous about your first class?
Just show up! You don’t have to be the strongest or fastest. We all start somewhere, and you’ll have a whole community cheering you on as you become a healthier, stronger YOU.

Name + what classes do you teach at BodyLift?
Rachael. Yoga + Pilates 🩷
How long have you been teaching fitness?
12 years
What made you want to become an instructor?
I wanted to understand why yoga was SO amazing for my mind and body - why it felt so good after class, how the body got into certain shapes, and what led to the peaceful feeling that is unique to yoga!
Day Job
Owner and teacher at Northern Lights Montessori Academy
What’s your favorite type of workout?
One the involves people coming together to have fun and take time for their mind and body. Also, one that involves laughing and Bieber’s new music (and a few from the OG days) preferably.
What’s one exercise you LOVE?
In Pilates, leg circles on a blue and yellow spring - luscious. In yoga, there’s too many, but there’s something about a down dog, done with intention, that really works for me.
What’s one exercise you could happily never do again? 😂
Burpees - I refuse and have no problem telling the instructor I need an alternate 😂
What’s your favorite workout song or artist?
Bieber, Stevie Nicks/Fleetwood Mac, Tom Petty
What do you love most about the BodyLift community?
We laugh and are real in my classes, most of the time - sometimes it takes everything I have to focus on cuing and postures. On those days, I may be more “composed” lol
What’s something members might be surprised to learn about you?
I love squirrels 🐿️ - I feed them in my back yard, name them (Steve if male, Stevie if female, and occasionally the ones who have a distinct marking will get their own name, “LT” for “Long Tail” as an example because her tail was SO long!
What would you tell someone who is nervous to try their first class at BodyLift?
Take the step, it will be worth it. If the little voice in your head is telling you to try it, there’s a reason and it will lead you to a new place on your journey

We climbed, we ran, we honored 911.

Today, we climbed to honor and remember those we lost on September 11, 2001. 🇺🇸

25 years. We will never forget.

The firefighters of dickinson_fire_department climbed alongside us wearing their full gear—a powerful reminder of what first responders carried as they climbed those stairs 25 years ago.

We wore 20-lb weighted vests in tribute, but that weight felt small in comparison.

Today wasn’t about the workout. It was about remembering the lives lost, honoring the heroes who ran toward danger, and recognizing the incredible sacrifice made that day.

343 firefighters. Countless heroes. One day we will never forget. 🇺🇸

I love a full-body sequence that isn’t the “norm.” 🙌

That’s one of my favorite things about the Pilates Reformer—it might just be the most versatile piece of equipment ever.

💪 Build strength
🤸‍♀️ Improve flexibility & mobility
⚖️ Challenge your balance
🔥 Work your entire body in ways you didn’t expect

No two workouts have to look the same. We can slow it down, load it up, work on control, or challenge stability.

The options really are LIMITLESS. 💙

Come see what your body can do on the Reformer!

P.S. some people call it RBF I call it concentration. 🙁

Hi!🙂 I’m Ashley Slaughter.

I teach currently reformer & strength💪🏼 but will sub wherever is needed.

•Day job: Mental Health therapist, perinatal certified🌸
•Teaching for oneish year.
• WHY I teach: Love creating work outs for others to enjoy.🥵
• Favorite class: LOVE strength & reformer. Best of both worlds 🌎
• Favorite exercise: abductor squats.
•Least 🙅🏽‍♀️: Renegade rows
•Work out music: 2010’s hip hop😎
•Why BodyLift: The community of people who you get to see daily are worth the 5am work outs.☀️
• Surprised to know about me: I really don’t like timed work outs- I would rather count 🫣

If you are nervous to come, my advice to you is just try it. One time, one class. You will quickly realize the support every teacher and member has. We always check in when someone isn’t coming- reassure each other when we take (maybe too long of) a break away from the gym, and are always able to settle back in as comfortable as before. Working out is a lifestyle, and it takes time to figure it out. Let us help you 🫶🏼

Kassidy. I teach Pilates Reformer

I’ve been teaching for about 6 months now.

I’ve always loved fitness and health, I think it’s so important to prioritize fitness even when life gets busy.
I decided I’d love to be an instructor when I fell in love with the reformer and realized how much it helped me.

I love Pilates but also love strength training, it’s a close second.

I love squats and planks!

I’d happily never do box jumps again😅😂

When lifting, I love anything hip-hop. On the reformer, I enjoy slower or more relaxing music.

I love how welcoming and helpful everyone was when I became an instructor. Also all of the clients make the classes so fun and easy to instruct!

I’m a mom of 3-year-old twins and also a full-time student getting my degree in accounting.

No need to be nervous! We all started somewhere, continuing to show up is how we all learn!

💙 MEET THE MEMBER LEADER — NICOLE SCHAFER 💙

1. What do you lead at BodyLift?
Strength 💪 + the occasional Bootcamp!

Day job: Accounts Receivable Manager for ND Energy Services.

2. How long have you been leading classes?
Since 2025! I’m technically not an instructor—I lead member-led classes.

3. Why did you start leading?
I’ve always loved creating workouts and finding new ideas. I’ve reached the point where I genuinely look forward to the gym, and I want to help others feel that way too!

4. Favorite workout?
Anything with a barbell. 🏋️‍♀️

5. Favorite exercise?
Anything squat-related!

6. Least favorite? 😂
Box jumps. My coordination says NO. 😂

7. Favorite workout music?
Anything with a good beat! 🎶

8. Favorite thing about BodyLift?
The atmosphere! Everyone is welcoming, helpful and judgment-free. We’ve all struggled with a move before, and we help each other through it. 💙

9. Something we might not know about you?
I overanalyze EVERYTHING—especially before leading a class. Sometimes the workout gets rewritten three times! 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

10. Advice for someone nervous to try BodyLift?
Come give it a try! Ask questions, have fun and remember—we’ve all had that first nervous walk into a new gym. You just have to start somewhere. 💙
