A Note from the President:
Hello DDST Swim Families,
I wanted to let you all know that the coaching staff and board members are working diligently to bring you a smooth and exciting short course season. If you haven't seen the messages going out, Early Bird registration is live so don't miss out on the lowest prices you will get this season.
First, our home meets are in the process of being sanctioned by the NDLSC. That being said, we are still having to "rent" officials from out to town, as our pool of officials still cannot provide for all of our needs. Most desperately, we are in need of Head Referees and Starters, but we can always use more officials in Stroke-and-Turn. If you have any interest in any of these positions, please reach out asap as it can take up to a year to get certified. To those who have completed their training sessions and signed up to help at our home meets, I CANNOT thank you enough!
Second, we are in need of a small storage shed for our growing program. We are thinking around the 8 x 10 or 10 x 10 size. Does anyone have any leads on a company or business that may be open to giving the club a good deal or possible donation of a storage shed? We will likely have it placed on site at the WRCC, freeing up some much needed space in our office. Please reach out to me asap if you have any leads regarding this topic.
Lastly, I want to thank a few members of our staff. Number one, thanks to Head Coach Lexi for her hard work. She is new to the role of head coaching and has been making great strides. Her work between the coaching staff and board members has been much appreciated, and the energy she brings to the entire program has created a buzz about town. Our numbers are growing, and we are looking for more staff and creative ways to make space in the pool for all those who want to swim with the dolphins. Number two, thank you to Michelle Augustin for her work as Team Manager and past president. She has turned over the role of Team Manager to Jessalyn Ensey, who is learning the ropes quickly. I appreciate the way both of these women have done all they can to make communication smooth between the club and the parents. We are always working to make improvements, and these two have been a major part in a lot of our successes. Finally, thank to you Coach Hannah, our 2025/2026 Coach of the Year. She has gone above and beyond to cater to our youngest swimmers-- rebranding, rewriting, and reorganizing-- as our newly named Lead Assistant to Lexi with regard to our development groups. She truly never says no when we ask her for just one more favor!
