I always enjoy a proper restoration on a straight razor. I decided to leave the cracked bakelite handle scale after fully securing it with glue and rivet and fixing the off center pivot hole that created the uneven stress that cracked it originally.
This one is a smooth shaver and turned out just right after resetting the hollow grounds and a little time sharpening.
Fresh out of the acid and the hamon on this W2 puukko is popping.
Trying to get a few in inventory before hunting season.
DM me for details if interested.
A pair of Nitros with pancake side scabbards. A bright brushed 52100 and a darker acid etched 1095.
Mule deer antler handle with a 1095 blade.
Sometimes a proper restoration is good for keeping up the maintenance and service skills. This Wade & Butcher razor is a good 100yrs old but is now in better shape then when it rolled out of the factory.
Finally got around to finishing this copper san mai seax up. Leather scabbard with an elk antler overlay matches the elk antler handle. 80CrV2 core with 15N20 jacket and copper lining. Rounding out with nickel-copper mokume gane bolster and pommel and a copper wire wrap. A true viking era knife design.
Heavy on details, yet perfectly light in the hand. This one is available, message for details!
As much as the burls have overtaken the knife world, a proper design with African Blackwood and a clay hamon 1095 blade is hard to beat.
A few Nitro V2’s getting close to done. 52100 is quickly becoming one of my favorites steels as it has a very favorable balance across many aspects of a knife steel. And if you needed to know about it’s edge performance just hit up Jackson as it would be hard to find a guy who using a hunting knife more.
Not really fresh off the work bench since it’s still on the work bench. Nitro with 52100 steel and damascus micarta handle.
Back from a short holiday break, forged a new 26C3 blade and started cleaning up these Nitros.
A batch of headknives for the holidays. Bocote, Zircote, and Ironwood burl, and they all cut as good as they look with 52100 ballbearing steel blades!
When a good bud tells ya he needs a solid knife for a solid dude without much notice, challenge accepted.
Seeing that knife put to work soon thereafter by the likes of is an rewarding end result.
I suppose if the knife shop ever needs a guard dog that will eat a thief, they’re tools and possibly vehicle, I know a couple guys that can help me find and train em.
A lengthened Cowboy Cutter, hollow ground 52100 with buffalo horn handle.
Buffalo horn on 1095 with a clay hamon. Love how this skinner turned out.
After deciding I would be consolidating to just my Spartan Wallet pattern, I was faced with the difficulty of using an eel skin from my inventory. Incredibly durable and slick, eel leather has some fascinating qualities, but as singles are rather small pieces.
I think I found their perfect home on this other pattern minimalist wallet. The perfect wallet for just an ID and a card or two with an internal spring clip to hold cash secure.
I think I will allow this pattern as my one alternate for those who are more cash dependent would likely prefer the expanded and easier access of folded bills.
This one is for sale, DM if interested!
I love seeing my knives put to use!
Congratulations to my cousin Jared on getting the job done and harvesting one of the more unique racks I’ve seen! Very cool bull!
…but weren’t those handles more of a tan brown color?
A V1 Nitro with elk antler handle and 1095 blade with a clay hamon. With fall approaching it’s a race to get my time in at the workshop before hunting consumes it.
