Western State Wrestling Camp Results

The Lady Demons wrapped up a great weekend at Western State Wrestling Camp, finishing with a 9-6 dual record against teams from Kansas, Colorado, Nebraska, Texas, Arizona, and Oklahoma.

What makes this performance even more impressive is how young this team is. We brought a group loaded with underclassmen who were willing to step on the mat, compete hard, and battle some very tough programs throughout the weekend. We saw tremendous growth, grit, and resilience from our athletes over three days of wrestling.

A special congratulations to our two Lady Demons, Enalyvia Marquez and Miranda Alvarez, who earned spots in the prestigious All-Star Dual! Earning that honor at a camp of this size is a testament to their hard work and performance throughout the weekend.

The future is bright for this group. We have plenty to improve on, but these girls competed with heart, represented Dodge City well, and gained valuable experience that will pay dividends this season.

Lady Demons camp starts tomorrow at 8am!

Lady Demon Families,

A reminder that Summer Strength & Conditioning begins tomorrow. Attendance is required for any athlete who wants to be eligible for varsity competition next season. This is an important part of our program and helps ensure our athletes are physically prepared for the demands of the season.

Next Thursday, we will have a Match Night in Garden City. If your wrestler is interested in attending, please reach out to me as soon as possible so I can begin arranging transportation. This is a great opportunity to get live matches, test your conditioning, and blow your lungs out before we head to Western Team Camp.

We also have the Lady Demon Wrestling Camp beginning next Friday morning. This camp is required for any athlete planning to travel with the team to Western Team Camp. The purpose of this camp is to help prepare our athletes for the intensity of camp, as well as the elevation change we’ll experience in Gunnison.
