It is with great sadness that the Govs Family remembers Paul Grover who lost his courageous 6 year long battle with cancer yesterday. Paul was a part of the 1988-89 Govs baseball team and a great guy who loved baseball, https://www.facebook.com/paul.grover.773?fref=ts

Coach Frichter just called and gave me the sad news that Mike Henry's Father passed away today. Please keep Mike and the entire Henry Family in your thoughts and prayers during this tough time. I will get more details for everyone but we will be sending flowers on behalf of the Wallace Governor's 1989 State Championship Team. You may want to reach out personally to Mike to offer condolences.

The whole time we were at the Celebration today for Coach Frichter, my little girl Hannah Gray, age 9 wanted me to "take her to the field" that we played on. So when we got ready to leave, I told her we would go see the field. I took her to our dugout and all around the infield an pitcher's mound. When we got to second base I told her that I stood on this spot many times while playing at Wallace. Much to my surprise, she asked me, "Daddy, can we get some dirt." Wow, I thought this was pretty cool coming from a 9 year old. So, we got some dirt! My kids had an awesome time and learned a lot more about their Daddy than they knew. My older child Emmilee, age 14 asked me, "Daddy, was that cat food story really true"?

Coach Frichter gave a wonderful talk this afternoon that included great stories but most of all he gave us his heart. The most important thing I got out of his talk was that he was all about "Serving Others". What more is there for any of us to do in this life. And look at the rewards!

A final note, Frichter's speech today was recorded and I had plans to post it here. However, it is way way too long and will take hours to upload.
