Played “blind” volleyball tonight. It allowed us to recognize whether or not we are watching the ball solely or watching other things, too. You can see The Rebels in action this weekend at home. We will send out a tournament schedule when we get it in case you happen to have time on your hands Saturday!

The Grand Prix/National Qualifier in Gillette proved to us that we are headed in the right direction. The mental toughness these girls showed is exactly what we have been working toward. 40 12u teams were present, and we ended up with a second place in the gold bracket in division 1. Wahoooo!!! 🔥🏐🥈

Played some 3 on 3 tonight tournament style. Here’s our winning crew ❤️ The Rebels are headed to Gillette this weekend for our first chance at qualifying for Nationals! It’s gonna be a tough tournament with teams from 3 states! Wish us luck; we will keep you updated! 🏐❤️

Cody proved to be a tough one for The Rebels. We started pool play 2-0 very easily. The third team we played, we beat ourselves. We couldn’t dig ourselves out the hole we created and couldn’t persevere; we beat ourselves in a mental game, which put us in the silver bracket. The silver bracket brought us a team that was surprising to see in a lower bracket, and one of the toughest teams we have seen this season. The girls performed phenomenally… one of the best matches, they have ever played, but we still came up short. 25-22 and 25-19! 3rd place is what we brought home! We will take Easter weekend off but head to Gillette the first weekend of April!

Bronze medal in the gold bracket! That puts us about a month ahead of last year’s successes in placement of bracket levels. EVERY girl scored at least one point on a serve, and EVERY girl helped during a volley to help score another point. Teamwork and solid, consistent game play is what everyone saw from The Rebels yesterday. We had so many people from all over the state approach us; people from teams that we didn’t even play against that just watched us from the other side of the gym… here’s some of what we heard, and that is what I am most proud of: 365 days ago you wouldn’t have gone undefeated in pool play, it’s amazing to see what has been done in a year with this team, the girls are wonderful and fun to watch, dominating at the net, they all know the game, they all can play every position, the passion is visible, coaches are fun and animated, parents are friendly and respectful, your team is a force we don’t want to play against, make sure your parents know we appreciate them…. I could keep going. Creating a positive culture of dominance and respect for all aspects of the game even through our fans is definitely a goal of every coach, and I think we are well on our way there. 🏐🏐🏐🥉🥉🥉
