The Lumina Sled Dog Fundraiser Challenge 2023 is open for registration! This Benchmarking Fundraiser Challenge will start Sunday October 1st and last 4 weeks.

Welcome to the Lumina Sled Dog Fundraiser Challenge 2023!

Purpose of this challenge is to both provide an avenue to get excited for the new season with sharing of ideas and motivation, while also helping the Boys of Lumina fundraise for our trip to Spain for the 2023 IFSS Dryland World Championships!!

Team Lumina is built and shaped on the foundation of benchmarking and receiving lessons learned from so many different teams which have anywhere from many years of experience to newer teams with a fresh eye for accomplishing goals. So this culture will be what drives the points system for this challenge.

About the Challenge:

1. 4 week challenge
- Week 1, Sun Oct 1st thru Sat Oct 7th
- Week 2, Sun Oct 8th thru Sat Oct 14th
- Week 3, Sun Oct 15th thru Sat Oct 21st
- Week 4, Sun Oct 22nd thru Sat Oct 28th

2. Points are available as follow.
- 1 point for a training run or race run, up to three points per week. Distance does not matter, keep it to your training plan and don’t sour your dogs early in the season. A mix of canicross, caniwalk, bikejoring, scooter, and rig are acceptable. Just ensure they are in harness and having fun.

- 2 points for conducting a skills teaching session for the dogs (up to two points total per week). This can be working on line out, stays, turns, reactivity, on bys, just anything you can capture taking your training back to basic foundations.

- 2 points for sharing a picture or video of your set up or processes whether it be at home with your kennels, feeding routine, car set up, process for dropping dogs, etc. Up to two total points per week. Help everyone get some benchmarking ideas!

- 2 points for taking a selfie with a new person you just explained sled dog sports (up to two points total per week)

- Bonus points for attending a race in October. Up to one point per race day! This includes sanctioned races, dog friendly races ran in canicross style, biathlons, etc. If you’re unsure if your race qualifies, just ask!

3. Posting weekly
- Please post your pictures and videos by 12pm EST on the Sunday after your week ends. This will allow me to spend Sunday afternoon manually tallying!
- Please add the hashtags below end of your post so I can better search them for points adding!





4. Prizes for the top challengers are in the works. Fundraiser swag will be available for purchase but the main take away for this challenge is to walk away with excitement for the new season and grab as many ideas from others as possible!

We are finalizing our Sponsor lineup for the back of the shirt and to welcome anyone who wanted to get their name or business logo added (you will need to send me a logo file).

As per our sponsorship packet which a few have seen, $100 gets your name added and $250 or more gets your logo.
