A black belt isn't just someone with great technique. It's someone who has learned to control themselves.
Our August Leadership Focus at Kaizen is Self-Control.
Throughout the month, our students won't just be learning new martial arts skills—they'll be developing one of the most important life skills they can carry with them into adulthood.
We'll be talking about:
• Controlling your actions before you react.
• Managing your emotions when things don't go your way.
• Using words that build others up.
• Making the right choices, even when no one is watching.
Every drill, every partner exercise, every correction from a coach is an opportunity to practice self-control.
Because the strongest person in the room isn't always the biggest or the fastest...
It's the one who can stay calm, think clearly, and make the right choice under pressure.
That's the kind of leader we're working to develop.
"Being strong isn't about controlling other people. It's about controlling yourself."
We can't wait to see our students grow throughout the month of August.

Today we have some exciting news to share with our Kaizen family.
After years of serving our students and helping shape the culture of Kaizen Karate Academy, Master Dayna Scott is pursuing a lifelong dream of opening her own martial arts school, Integrity Martial Arts.
We couldn’t be more proud of her and all she has accomplished.
Master Scott will continue teaching at Kaizen during the transition, and we’re excited for the opportunities ahead for both schools. We look forward to continuing to work together through tournaments, seminars, special events, and our shared martial arts community.
At the same time, Kaizen Karate Academy remains stronger than ever, and Master Preece is excited to return to a more active day-to-day role on the training floor.
