A mixed night Nicholson Speedway last night. Jackson did great in his Mini Swift, tightening up his racing line and working on breaking. He was racing against Flat Heads which were a different experience for him.
In his Cadet class he was breaking in his repaired Gold Kart so it definitely felt a different drive for him. We were also working out kinks of putting a kart back together. In his first heat race his brakes were binding so he was just losing time as he went around the track. We got that fixed and continued to fine tune the kart for gearing and other tweaks. Even with all the tweaks and kinks he was able to put it onto the podium in third.

Today was Club Race 8 Sandy Hook Speedway-Street, MD. Jackson ran both hos karts and was experimenting with different corner entries and exits, and different kart setups to chase those last remaining hundredths. He was fast, communicative, and open, making real progress. His diligence paid off with a double podium - second place in 206 Sportsman, and first place in his mini swift. Can’t wait to hit the track again soon!

Jackson had a great night Nicholson Speedway. In an homage to the 2022 Mercedes F1 team, he tried to race without a side pod and got black flagged and had to come off the track in the first heat race. It meant he started heat two in fifth place and he worked his way up to first place. He kept that lead into the final and was able to win the cadet race. He also raced his mini swift again a Senior 206 and was able to hold his own. As always, thanks to our sponsors:

Jackson had a great day at the track today. While there wasn’t a great turnout in his classes, he raced the fastest three other kids in the sportsman class and got plenty of practice laps in on the mini swift. Qualifying in the four stroke was tight and we were experimenting with some new gear ratios so he started the heat race in fourth. He quickly moved up to second, and finished third. Jackson had an eventful week. He started off doing overnight Cub Scout camp at Camp Ware where he achieved pro archer in archery and top shot in BB guns. He followed that into Sunday by racing both karts at Sandy Hook Speedway. While he was exhausted from his four nights in a tent, he pushed himself to do his best and achieve personal best in both karts. In his two-stroke, he was racing against the national racer and was able to remain competitive while trying new racing lines and learning. In his four stroke, he made his way up to third place before being dive- bombed by a competitor in the first corner of lap two in the final. His competitor was black flagged for the incident, but Jackson unfortunately could not resume the race as his chain had popped. We are proud of his effort, stamina, and heart and look forward to racing again in 2 weeks.

After a great Saturday, the gremlins were out in full force on Sunday. We had a number of issues with both karts but we managed to get the driver back on track for each round. Jackson got first place in Mini swift despite two chain pops and a lost tire. In Sportsman he placed 4th in qualifying and while making a move they went 3 wide into a turn and Jackson got pushed into the hay bales during the heat race so he started the Feature in last place. He got tangled up with another driver and was only able to gain a place as he tried his best to catch up. We are proud of what he did this weekend, and as our motto says we’ll keep pushing. Tonight Jackson raced at Nicholson Speedway in his 4 stroke and 2 stroke karts. They did the track in a reverse configuration (his first time) and he was setting the fastest lap in both classes in all sessions. This clip is from the heat race in 4 stroke, where he started on pole. Unfortunately, he was passed under yellow and finished the final in second. He finished in his 2 stroke kart. Now we try to get some sleep and start again in the morning!!!
