June 2016. Eagle Creek Park, Indiana. The beginning of a dream.
We don't know if these women still run. We don't know where life has taken them. But they'll always be part of the SHE POWER story. Back then, SHE POWER was a small women's event with a simple idea: create a place where women could challenge themselves, encourage each other, and celebrate their accomplishments.
Since that morning, we've run through pouring rain, blazing sunshine, cold wind, and everything in between. Thousands of women have crossed our finish lines and complete strangers have become friends. Little girls who once crossed the finish line holding Mom's hand are growing into runners of their own. Mothers, daughters, sisters, grandmothers, and best friends have made SHE POWER part of their story together.
Some women came to race. Some came to walk. Some showed up because they simply needed a fresh start. But every single one became part of something bigger.
No matter how much SHE POWER has grown, a few things have never changed...
Every finisher still receives a rose.�There's always cake waiting at the finish.�And perhaps most importantly, there's always a community of women cheering for one another.
To everyone who has been part of SHE POWER over the years...THANK YOU for helping create something that's about so much more than running.
Here's to the women who started it all... and the thousands who have joined us since.
