✅ APPROVED! MORE TRAILS FOR CORPUS CHRISTI! 🚲🌴
Great news! Thanks to you, Corpus Christi City Council unanimously approved Item 12 (26-1469), authorizing the City to apply for $1,147,200 in federal funding for the District 5 Trail Connectivity and Safety Improvements Project!
The proposal includes a $286,800 local match from the 2024 Bond, giving Corpus Christi the opportunity to pursue more than $1.1 million in federal funding for better trail connectivity and safety improvements.
👏 A special thank you to District 5 Council Member Gil Hernandez for helping get the ball rolling on this project and championing better trail connectivity in District 5. We appreciate the work that helped bring this opportunity before City Council!

We’re already seeing what investment in trails can look like in Corpus Christi. This is another important step toward safer ways to walk and bike, better-connected neighborhoods, and more opportunities for Corpus Christi families to be active outdoors.
The grant funding still has to be awarded, but Corpus Christi now has the green light to go after it! 🤞
